Series: Song of Blessing
Deborah MacCallister, head nurse at the Blessing hospital, has loved Toby Valders since her school days, but she's had enough of their on-again, off-again relationship. Toby truly cares for Deborah, but he's never felt like he could commit to marriage or a family.
When Anton Genddarm, the new schoolteacher, comes to town, the young women of Blessing see a chance to force Toby's hand with a little strategic matchmaking. But real sparks fly between Deborah and Anton, and she finds herself in an even more complicated situation. The attention she gets from Anton makes Toby do some serious soul-searching, but is it too late?
Then Deborah receives an invitation to study the latest advances in nursing at a hospital in Chicago, and she faces a hard choice. To leave or stay? Should she give up on the dream of Toby and accept the interest of Anton?
JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5nice to visit againNovember 30, 2016JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4From This Day Forward is the fourth book in the Song of Blessing series. I have read all the other books in the series and always enjoy returning to Blessing. That being said, if you haven't read any of the series, you might want to start at the beginning. The series follows many of the same characters throughout their lives, and this book continues with the tradition. Blessing is a growing small town that is not with out its problems, but also sounds like an amazing place to live. If something needs to get done they make it happen, and they always help those in need. This story follows several main characters, as they live their daily lives and do the best they can.
Deborah has always loved Toby, but it doesn't seem like he will ever return the favor. Talking to her friends, she decides that she needs to make some decisions. Placing her life in Gods hands sounds easy, but Deborah is finding it harder and harder to wait for her happy ending. Like most women, she is ready to start a family, and wants that to be with Toby. But when a new man comes to town, she finds herself drawn to him as well. What is Gods will for her life? Will she wait for it to be revealed? Or take matters into her own hands before He can show her?
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical fiction. I enjoyed learning more about new inventions that came along, and how they learned to use them. And I always enjoy the people of Blessing. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
Jenny3 Stars Out Of 5Make sure and read the other books in the series first.November 14, 2016JennyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Deborah has been in love with her longtime friend Toby, and when another good looking man shows up in the picture, it doesn't take long for to Toby realize what he wants. He's just hoping that he hasn't waited too long.
I have read most of the other books in this Blessing series, and even though this book had it's own story, I have to admit I was most excited to read this book to see what was going on with some of my favorite characters from past books. The town of Blessing and it's people are truly one of a kind.
This book is one that I would recommend starting from the beginning of the series in order to truly enjoy it. There is just too much history in this town for you to start this far in. If you've read the series up until this point, I would recommend reading this one as well, to find out how the town of Blessing keeps changing. This book wasn't fast paced by any means, but more of a leisurely read into the lives of your favorite characters.

bookworm645 Stars Out Of 5another great bookNovember 12, 2016bookworm64Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book continues the adventures of the extended Bjorklund family in Blessing. Mrs. Snelling weaves a great story of faith in the face of various adversities both spiritual and physical. This is the fourth box in the series Song of Blessing and I would recommend that the others be read before this one - not totally necessary, but makes the storyline easier to follow.

Many readers who are familiar with Lauraines Bjorklund family novels, set in Blessing, North Dakota, will enjoy this fourth book in The Song of Blessing series.
Each book features a different person in or involved with the Bjorklund family, a family readers are bound to fall in love with. From This Day Forward features Deborah MacCallister, who is the head nurse at the Blessing Hospital. Deborah is 25 and is watching as many of her friends are marrying and having children. She wonders if it will ever be her turn. She has had a crush on Toby Valadez, since their school days, but he often seems standoffish, and she wonders if he is the right person for her to marry or if God has someone else in mind for her.
Thorliff Bjorklund, whose wife recently passed away, has thrown himself into his work to the detriment of his children. Can anyone reach him? Also a pack of dangerous wild dogs are living on the edge of town. How can they be stopped? There are more twists and turns that will keep you guessing, and if you enjoy historical fiction, youll love this book as well as many other series about the Bjorklund family.
KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Song of Blessings #4October 31, 2016KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Lauraine Snelling brings us the 4th installment in her Song of Blessing series.
I would say that reading the previous books would be helpful when reading this book. This is the first book of Ms. Snelling's I have read so at the first of this book I felt somewhat lost as to the characters. Needless to say the first of the book was somewhat difficult to get into, but I pressed on and soon was immersed in the story. This is Deborah MacCallister's story. She is the head nurse at Blessings Hospital and I found her very interesting since I, myself, am a nurse. It always fascinates me about the medical field historically. This story focuses on family and the strong values brought from Norway. We find that Deborah has loved Toby Valders since she was a young girl, but their on again off again relationship leads one to believe that maybe Toby isn't as committed as Deborah. Deborah makes a decision that she will give Toby through the summer, but at the end she will decide whether to give up on him completely.
This is a sweet plot that flows effortlessly. Though the pace is consistent I also found it somewhat slow. I love the community and how they come together. This is a well written story and brings a variety of secondary characters that are well integrated. I wish I had of read the first books of the series so I would have gotten the full impact of the series.
**I received this book from the publisher as part of their book bloggers program.
