Marriage is not for the faint of heart.
Men, look at Ephesians 5:28: "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself."
Men, are you ready to make a commitment such as this?
Ladies, are you ready to hop on his train? Consider Ephesians 5:22: "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord."
How are you both going to work out that verse as a couple? Anyone fighting yet?
From Me to We is a transparent, surprisingly honest, and widely informative guide that will inspire readers to safeguard their marriage by tackling tough questions and issues before they say, "I do." Lucille Williams, pastor's wife and trained Prepare/Enrich Marriage Facilitator, offers straight-talk about marriage with unprecedented insight as well as challenges and discussion questionsa must-have tool for premarital counseling. This compelling, entertaining, and insightful guide covers topics including the all-important question of Why are you getting married? as well as forgiveness, communication, expectations for marriage, baggage, sex, and moneyall from a biblical perspective.
Williams is also employed at Shepherd Church as the family theatre director. With her church based in Los Angeles, she directs and coaches professional actors such as Vernee Watson, best known for her role on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air;" Nakia Burrise, a series regular on the TV show "Hart of Dixi," and a power ranger on the show "Power Rangers;" and Dana Michael Woods, who is currently on the TV show "Sid the Science Kid." Her position requires developing a creative and engaging show, directing a large team in producing a weekly production attended by thousands yearly.
In addition to working with children and families, she has been featured as a highlighted speaker for a video-teaching series seen by thousands. One of her speaking engagements was for Destiny Leader Online, a Web conference hosted by Dream of Destiny for leaders all over the nation. Teaming up with her husband, they developed a marriage ministry, which includes mentoring programs and marriage events at their home church. Through her many years of serving others, Williams has spoken at conferences, Bible studies, Sunday school classes, and large-formatted church events for adults and children. On an even larger scale, she has been a key speaker for Vacation Bible Schools, Kids Revivals, marriage events, and womens retreats, all ranging into the hundreds in attendance.
Williams is proudest of her marriage to Mike for more than 32 years and the raising of their three children. She enjoys working in ministry alongside her husband and has an intense passion for ministering to families and young people.

With each turn of the page, I found myself saying, Yea, yea, yea. She is perceptive in the way she captures the full range of relationships influencing a marriage. Her sage advice is down to earth, practical, thoughtful, and easily identifiable. As a pastor, I thought the discussion questions were great tools to surface some vital conversations with those I may counsel. This book is hard to put down, and will make pre-marital counseling something to look forward tofor both the counselor and couples preparing for marriage.
Kathie5 Stars Out Of 5This book is not just for engaged couples, but for married couples too!April 2, 2017KathieQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This book says that it's a premarital guide for the bride and groom to be, however, this book is a guide for anyone who is not only engaged, but married too. The author's writing style is easy to read and completely relatable. The raw truth that is brought forth in this book is positive and refreshing. The stories that are shared are both funny and thought provoking. As Lucille Williams shares her own adventures, mistakes, and successes, you find yourself engaged in her story and reflecting on your own. The questions at the end of each chapter are well thought out and helpful in spurring on pointed discussions. The flow of the chapters of the book build nicely on one another. Any couple that starts out with this book in their back pocket will be miles ahead. Married couples that find themselves reading this book will most likely find themselves making some positive changes in their marriage. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
paigev5 Stars Out Of 5If you are engaged- you must read this book!April 1, 2017paigevQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you are engaged, in a serious relationship, or even married already, this is truly an amazing book. From Me to We is super practical with the author's real-life experiences, while still being funny, and sometimes hard-hitting (in all the right ways). She wrote things that I loved, while giving me a gut check simultaneously, like "If you're going to keep a record, don't keep a record of times you've had to forgive your spouse. Keep a record of how many times your spouse has forgiven you". Wow. Perhaps I could improve in that area...
Her discussion questions at the end of each chapter are insightful, helpful, and even fun to talk with your spouse about.
From Me to We is an easy read that will catch you laughing out loud, eager to discuss with your partner, and encourage you to peer inside yourself for review. I truly believe this book has set me up for an even better marriage! (Which happens in 8 days!!) Thank you Lu for writing this amazing book.
