From Ash to Fire

Sudden change is generally not something the church handles well - or, at least, the church as most of us have known it in our own generation. But the stories of our faith, from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week and Easter then into the festival of Pentecost, represent both death and rebirth. We are called to remember the ancient story of Passover, recall the words of Jesus at the Last Supper and from the cross, find elation in an empty tomb, and ponder how the Holy Spirit still blows in our world.
