We are first year homeschoolers with 1 student, so our experience is limited. That said, we have been using Notgrass From Adam to Us for about 3-4 months and we are loving it as a history curriculum. We have even started giving it to my son as an independent study. I love how it weaves Bible and Church History in with the secular history of the world. It doesn't hide from touching on what other people in other cultures believed, being respectful of even Islam while reinforcing that Jesus is the only way to heaven. As a History curriculum, it exceeds my expectations.

The curriculum does claim to be a literature curriculum too, but I do not feel it is complete as it is given (book list and 5 questions for each book in the Lesson Review or Student Workbook). Perhaps it is mostly because of my child's learning challenges, but I feel that he needs additional supplementation. That said, he has LOVED reading the selections so far. I don't think he honestly read a chapter book or much more than 1 or 2 paragraphs in Public School on his own.

We LOVE the Map Book, but the timeline doesn't get used as much because of my son's significant dysgraphia.

Finally, I can give nothing but the highest of praise and appreciation for Notgrass customer service. They have been very helpful in helping me accommodate my son's needs.

We are really enjoying the From Adam to Us curriculum. Engages both my fifth and seventh graders. I did end up buying the workbooks and my kids like both of them (Student Workbook and Lesson Review). I think one or the other is all that is needed though. The text is interesting with beautiful pictures relating to the current lesson subject. My kids like how it all ties in to the Bible. Neither is ever bored and both enjoy the entire lesson, from reading the lesson to completing the assignments. This was definitely the perfect choice for us and exceeded our expectations.

My 5th grade son and I both enjoy this immensely! I am learning so much as well. I will definitely use this history curr. from now on. The workbooks are fun, the pictures are great, the timeline is nice to have on the wall, ...I just can't say enough good things about it.

We've used Story of the World for years. That's still my top pick for teaching history to the elementary-aged child. But until now I'd not found something that was a good next step. Notgrass's 3 year sequence is the answer. An academically rigorous, well-designed, easy-to-implement program. My 8th grade son did Adam to Us last year and we all learned a lot!

I Highly recommend From Adam to Us and actually recommend Notgrass for all your History needs. America the Beautiful we used for American History and Adam to US for World History. My son enjoyed all of it, including the Time line, Map, Student workbook, with questions and review in different forms from fill in the blank to cross word puzzles, and Student Review. Notgrass History Curriculum is Excellent and Complete.
