Julie5 Stars Out Of 5If you are looking for a great book on the importance of prayer....buy this book!April 21, 2017JulieQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Jim Cymbala's book is an excellent read on the power of prayer. He writes from the heart because he has been through the fire himself. He proves to his readers how much prayer is needed in the lives of Christians, in the church, in our country and in our world. Prayer is the key and this book just drives that thought home. Brother Cymbala's words just flow. You will not want to put this book down. If you are wondering how you can make a change in your life, church work or hometown, read this book! I am keeping it as a reference and plan to read it again and again. I love it!

The message is still as true today as it was when it was written. In the ensuing years, I have heard Pastor Cymbala speak several times and sense the same spirit about him when he speaks as I got from reading the book. His message comes through very clearly. He does not try to soften it to make it more palatable to the younger generations. I am glad I read the book for the second time because it reminded me of some key points I had forgotten and I gained some new insights that I missed the first time. If you are like me and have read it before, I encourage you to read it again. He has a way of getting to the heart of the matter and uses powerful stories from his experiences at The Brooklyn Tabernacle to drive home the points. He clearly shows the importance of prayer and the power of God that rests on a people who have totally committed everything they do to prayer. The book does not brag on Jim Cymbala but on God. If you sense the need for more prayer in your church, read this book and learn from it. Although it is not a how-to manual, you will gain some valuable insights into the effects of honest, sincere prayer in the life of today's churches.

Robert Goodnough5 Stars Out Of 5Transforming!November 1, 2014Robert GoodnoughQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My church is using this book as the basis of our Thursday night study and it is presenting Christianity as it was intended to be. It is Christ's church and we are to draw our directions, help and strength from Him. The Holy Spirit is using the principles in this book to transform individual people and the congregation in a wonderful way. There are many congregations that are concerned about their survival and are scrambling to survive. "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" tells people how to go forward, not through the ingenuity of man, but through the power of God.
