From the multi-million bestselling authors of Experiencing God comes Fresh Encounter, a book for church laypersons and leaders that illuminates God’s pattern and plan for personal revival and spiritual awakening.
Greatly revised from the original 1996 edition with forty percent new material, Fresh Encounter looks to examples of revival throughout the Bible to better understand what it will take to bring about true and lasting spiritual renewal in the world today. Among the new topics here that were not covered in the first edition are:
* Why does revival tarry?
* Corporate hindrances to revival
* The role of prayer in revival
* Maintaining revival

Ron5 Stars Out Of 5March 25, 2009RonIn typical Blackaby style, that being heavy on normative Biblical truth combined with passionate pastoral encouragement, Blackaby challenges both Christ followers and church leaders to examine not only WHAT they are doing but more importantly WHY they're doing it. The current 'seeker friendly church' has left many christians needing personal revival, and when many members need revival, the Church needs revival as well. He does an excellent job defining revival and presents exhaustive accounts from past revivals. Best of all he brings revival down to the person level. Not just a geographic region, or certain churches, but the need and fruit of persoanl revival. I do fear many cutting edge, trend setting, lastest, greatest, type church leadership will see this as 'old school' material but nothing could be farther from the truth. Revival is much needed, going back to rediscover what God desires most from His church and His people is Blackaby's strength. Strongly recommed, in fact I challenge church leaders to read this powerful book.
