This is an interesting movie which intertwines two different time periods in history as they relate to the true stories of slavery . we found it very realistic and well done

This is an excellent rendition of the lives of two very different men, one a slave trader, the other a slave. Based on a true story, this movie is well done. It is a wonderful comparison of the two sides of slavery and the final redemption of both slave and slave trader. The acting is good, and it keeps your attention throughout. It was worth watching more than once.

Wow, this movie was tough to get into. I shut it off about ten mins into it. Why? Not sure if it was my state of mind, or the pain that came so quickly. I have always had such a broken heart regarding slavery and racism.

A few nights later I thought of it again. I am a real fan of Cuba Gooding, a reason I bought the movie, aside from it being a true story. I am so into Documentaries, history and faith.

It was a new concept for most movies, like watching two movies at the same time, one hundred years apart.

Amazing Grace is one of the best ever, this one was very much like that. However, I wasn't aware that John Newton, (wrote the song & was a ship Captain for slavery). Aside from that, I have always wanted to learn more about the Underground Railroad. The movie goes back & forth, again with a span of one hundred years,

But, not to worry, it is not confusing & you quickly get into it. It actually adds much to the movie esp, with in the closing scenes!

Naturally Cuba is fantastic, though angry, bitter and scared to death and angry at God, if He exists! He's really the only well known actor, but the casting is A plus. I just watched it last night and getting ready to watch it again! It's a must see, not to mention the songs, which Cuba even sang one, good too, but that's why I love him so much, you should never underestimate him! He played a very powerful role, with power. You really do need to see this movie!
