Author Bio

Always an adventurer, Bear Grylls reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1998 at the young age of 23. He participated in that expedition to raise funds for a children’s hospital. His additional adventures include leading a team across the freezing North Atlantic Arctic Ocean in a small open inflatable boat, becoming the first man to fly a powered paraglider to a height above Mount Everest, and leading a small team to climb one of the most remote un-climbed peaks in the world in Antarctica. Bear has written several books including The Kid Who Climbed Everest and Facing the Frozen Ocean. He now hosts the popular television show Man vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel where he is parachuted into some of the most inhospitable places on earth and shows how to survive. Involved with many worthy causes throughout the world, Bear has agreed to donate all proceeds from With Love, Dad to Alpha International. Bear Grylls lives in the UK with his wife and three sons.
