Editorial Reviews

"In reading Don Wilkerson's new book, First Step, I am convinced that it will benefit pastors, addicts, and anyone who wishes to be involved in remedying the downward-spiraling drug epidemic! It is full of wisdom, bringing the God-factor to the fore-front as the remedy to the problem. The author has spent 54 years working with Teen Challenge, helping to rehabilitate thousands of addicts. He knows first-hand what works!" -Jesse Owens, President, Global Renewal, Inc.

"Don Wilkerson, with 50+  years of rehabilitation experience as the Co-Founder of Teen Challenge (the largest drug and alcohol program in the world), has hit the mark in this inspiring book, First Step. Its chapters reveal truths about addictions and provide a detailed, biblical prescription of freedom from the bondage and consequences of life-controlling problems. With the severe increase of drug and alcohol addictions and the massive abuse of prescription drugs affecting every age group and social status, once again Brother Don has responded to the cry for healing and deliverance. He provides insights for recovery that very few people in the world are able to capture." -Pastor Jimmy Jack

"I am deeply involved in Teen Challenge here in Korea. I have read thorough, both Pastor David Wilkerson and Nicky Cruz, books and have been really excited for both books. This book was written in a more practical way. I like his way of writing, and for me, it felt very personal. I can see myself using this book as a text book for future work with Teen Challenge here in South Korea. Pastor Don Wilkerson has many, many years of experience with this kind of work, and that really shows through in his writing.

It is also very basic so any person would be able to understand and live it out in their own life. This book can be used for lay people, people in ministry, and people fighting to get out of a bad life style. The book is written in such a way that it reaches very very very far.

I have nothing but respect for Teen Challenge, the Ministry, and the books they are writing. Very very happy, and I am excited to read another book with Pastor Don Wilkerson.
Great great book!" – Emil Lavsen

"Having known Pastor Don for over 20 years, I can say that his kindness, his concern for people, and his commitment to seeing lives changed by the power of God, has never wavered. To read this book is like chatting with him over a good, hot meal where he will tell you the truth, with genuine fatherly love." -Pastor Charles Simpson
