He was an ordained United Methodist minister and the author or coauthor of several books, including When Gods Change: Hope for Theology and Love: The Foundation of Hope. J. Wayne Baker is a former Professor of History at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He is coauthor of The Humanities in the Western Tradition: A Literary Reader.
