Product Description

Continue your journey with this follow-up study to the One curriculum, which is about fully embracing our shared life in Christ - in community with one another. Because there is no neutral in life, the Forward small group journey is about taking steps forward in the right direction - growing in the virtues expounded upon in 2 Peter 1:3-11: moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, affection for others, and love.

The book is designed to be used in small groups along with the Leader Guide and DVD. Each of the seven chapters focuses on one of the seven virtues and includes both group and individual questions. Bible texts used in the reading are included in the book, making it convenient for participants.

Publisher's Description

Study 2 Peter 1:3-11 and the virtues lifted up in this passage: Moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, affection for others, and love. There is a strong focus on actively pursuing a godly life...it's not just resistance to sin that matters, but an active pursuit of goodness and love, fully living into the new life that Christ offers believers. Forward helps Christ-centered small groups take the next step. They learn how to push one another forward in their shared life together. Pushing one another forward means helping one another grow in faith, knowledge, and actions consistent with a Christian life.

As a follow up to Cunningham's small group study called One, it follows One's format, including a participant book with teaching content and interactive elements; a leader guide; and video. However, small groups that have not previously used the One curriculum will enjoy Forward as a guide for developing Christian virtues with the support of and partnership of others in their small group.
