EmilyDawn4 Stars Out Of 5Great thoughts!August 25, 2016EmilyDawnQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I always enjoy Craig Groeschel, this is the first book I have read by him. We have done some small group dvd and work book curriculums. This book has practical ideas in there. I think this would be a great book for dating couples to read and marriages that are new. I have been married 13 years and found that a lot of his ideas we have come up with ourselves over time. I wish some of them we knew about earlier on, but hey I guess it's what makes us stronger. Nice to be reminded that our ideas aren't crazy, society sometimes think we are weird for certain guidelines we hold to,but I don't want a normal marriage like most of society has.
Leann5 Stars Out Of 5Great Book on Marriage!August 18, 2016LeannQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really love how practical this book is. It contains ideas that are very easy to apply, and it is done in an entertaining and humorous way. It is a good tool for making improvements in a marriage relationship.
Pastor's Wife4 Stars Out Of 5Good, but...June 17, 2016Pastor's WifeQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I think this is an excellent devotional for those who are not yet married. The majority of the book, however, is devoted to helping married couples. But when you get to chapter 4, Stay Pure, it refers mostly to singles. I, unfortunately, have a past of sexual sin. My husband had forgiven me, finally, after 19 years. We were doing great. Then he read the session where Craig talks about cat diarreah. I feel like we are back to square 1 and the enemy is attacking us again. I wish we never even had the book now just because of that chapter, which shouldn't even have been included in a book designed for married couples. Yes, we need illustrations to keep us pure and on track, but come on! Either write the book for singles or married couples. It can't be for both. Like I said, after 19 years we were finally doing good. Now that's what he will probably think of me everytime we are together. Cat diarreah. Thanks Groeschel. It is, however, very good for people who have no history of sexual sin, and I would recommend it in those cases.

jj2010CanadaAge: 45-54Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Fairly goodJanuary 22, 2015jj2010CanadaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3From this day forward, Five commitments to fail-proof your marriage, is an fairly enjoyable book. It is quite short and simple, filled with a lot of practical wisdom. I found it to be a quick read, and quite light hearted. It might be more appreciated by someone who is starting out in a new marriage relationship. I think a younger couple might be more appreciative of Craigs humor and sarcasm.
It is written in a way that does allow a longer married couple to sort of take inventory on how they are doing, and I found this to be helpful and thought-provoking. I appreciated some of the warning signs and reminders that Craig gave, especially in regards to Gods dreams and goals for our relationships.
My main critic would be that it lacks some depth at times, and glosses over many tough issues in marriage. And although their names are both on the cover, the book is definitely dominated by Craigs writing, with just a couple of pages of reflections by Amy at the end of each chapter. I would have appreciated hearing from the perspective of a wife more.
I received this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.
