ronmCanadaAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5An easy read with lots of clout!September 7, 2014ronmCanadaAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As usual, Francis Chan gives a wakeup call that is both timely and stimulating. In an easy to read style he raises some very important issues on how we have dealt (read "neglected") with the Holy Spirit in our worship, church organization and ministry in general. In our culture, which is highly motivated towards success and numbers, we have a tendency to depend on our own abilities and skills to get fast results. Chan calls us back to the birthing and origin of the Church and its full dependence on the Holy Spirit. He is very insightful when he says that our behaviour in some of our services is sometimes more like that of the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel rather than exhibiting the quiet confidence of Elijah who represented the true God. This book is a must read for every Christian.

Sweet BrownieOntario, CanadaAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Gets you ThinkingNovember 8, 2013Sweet BrownieOntario, CanadaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I am really enjoying how this book gets you thinking about the Holy Spirit as a person and his role in your life. I thought my view, that the Holy Spirit is a power source to tap into, was Scriptural and correct, but as I continue through this study that is being challenged from all angles. They say that ignorance is bliss, but I am so happy to be learning and stepping into living a Spirit filled life. Francis Chan uses analogies that are easy to understand, powerful, and relevant. He asks questions to get you thinking instead of telling you what to think. The whole books is encouraging, and inspiring.
