Publisher's Description

Have you longed for a place of acceptance? People allowing you to be yourself? Forgiven is based on a network of women who have come together, asking little of each other, realizing the past has formed them but the future will release them from the secrets and mistakes.

Ellen Anderson is the rock of faith, though her life will be shaken when her daughter is kidnapped. Beatrice, the widow, finds life goes on regardless of death or grief. Anne, divorced and alone, struggles full of fear, searching for peace and a way to reunite with her little boy. Harriet Becker has lived with a secret; she considers an unforgiven sin that has caused her to become a recluse from society.

When the four women find their lives entwined rather than entangled, they find truth in the old saying, “Trouble shared is trouble halved.” Ellen’s faith becomes their creed. “Time may lead me nowhere, though I press on. My faith may break into pieces, but I know within my being, when I falter God is there.” Will each woman find peace? Does God have a plan for their lives? Will the friendship, that wonderful network of caring, last when a little girl is kidnapped?

This review was written for Forgiven.
Forgiven begins with the adoration and loving care of little 3 year old Ruthie, who instantly steals the heart of everyone she meets. Ellen, a single mom, unselfishly devotes all of her effort to making ends meet for the two of them and effortlessly draw in a circle of women who all learn to depend on one another. Each having gone through their own trials and struggles, they begin to realize how they've held onto their past. In each their own ways, they are learning to be able to move forward in a healthy way; they have to release past hang-ups. Through a time of catastrophic events, they learn how they've come to depend on the others for support, and are finding their way to God - where they can be truly Forgiven.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  Hello, I'm very appreciative to see my book on this site. I am a farmer's wife, a Sunday School teacher, (we call it life group), a mother to three and grandmother to six wonderful people! Life has had its ups and downs but talk about blessings! When you love the Lord and truly believe He has your life in His hands;those are the blessings!!

What was your motivation behind this project?  Our Heavenly Father didn't need me, He already had inspired writers of the Bible, but it came to me that often people who have no background of being raised in A christian home do observe believers and see a difference in the way we handle adversity. This has been my thank you to God, if one person reads the story of these women;Ellen who is a believer, Anne whose life has been insecure, beaten down and intimidated by a wandering husband, Bitty the widower and Harriet who removed herself from society to become a recluse doubting the truth of those who believe; if one person identifies with the doubt in these women's minds as they observe Ellen who does not force her belief on any, but loves and cares for them and leads them to understand what salvation is really all about, then my writing will not be in vain for it will be blessed by the Lord, himself. The sequel to Forgiven, will be on the shelves hopefully in March. It is my hope Forbidden further lightens the way for readers of my book.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  A knowledge that we all struggle in our every day life, but there is peace in our hearts when we know the Lord even in the darkest moment of our life. There truly is a peace that passeth understanding and it can come only from the Lord.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It has made me try harder to be the person God wants me to be. I have to be careful in how I word each character's feelings and I must not error in scripture.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Max Lucado has a wonderful way of expressing God's love in the most down to earth way. Jan Karon writes about people with kind hearts. The list goes on and on. Those are the first two who came to mind.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I hope you recognized the characters as real people facing the same every day problems we all face in today's world. God watches over us. He sent his son to die for us. Salvation covers a multitude of sins by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross if we humble ourselves and ask His forgiveness and believe. John 3:16
