When Christy shares her life-altering news with Todd, she doesn't receive the joyful response she was expecting. Aunt Marti inserts a few strong opinions about how the young couple should navigate this difficult season and when Todd's dad asks for help renovating his Newport Beach home it's clear that nothing will ever be the same for them again.
As Christy and Todd's relationship is radically altered will they continue to drift apart? Or will they come through the major shifts with a deeper love each for other and the One who brought them together in the first place?

Christy and Todd: The Married Years
By Robin Jones Gunn
Forever With You will delight fans of Robin Jones Gunn's Christy Miller, Sierra Jensen, and Katie Weldon series.
Christy and Todd are well into the marriage, heading into year 2 when career-wise obstacles and hurdles appear on the horizon. Facing these challenges is a strain as they have to make decisions that could very well alter the path their lives have been following.
The obstacles that Christy and Todd face brings a new maturity to their marriage that seemed to be lacking when these issues first came up. This is a time of growth personally, spiritually, and as a couple. Times of trial can indeed be a time of blessing once we give our fears over to God.

bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good book for teens about a marriage under pressureDecember 11, 2014bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Christy, of the multi-volume Christy Miller series, and Todd have been to college and have now been married for two years. Todd is a youth pastor and Christy works part time at a bookstore. They are a young couple in love. (This book picks up the series where the latest Katie Weldon book ended.)
Then their life trajectory takes a turn. The senior pastor of the church retires and controversy arises over Todd remaining in his position. When a church split seems to be in the future, Todd resigns. A short time later Christy receives discouraging news about her job. Suddenly their future looks very unsure.
This novel is a good study of a new marriage under pressure. We witness misunderstandings as the young couple experiences the difficulty of communicating under pressure. We also see the pressure a couple experiences when one has a dream the other does not share. Todd still wants to be a missionary in Papa New Guinea when that is the farthest thing from Christy's mind.
It was great to see how the couple relied on their Christian faith, bathing their decisions in prayer. It was fun to experience their quirky and opinionated Aunt Marti. It was good to see the couple reconnect with their friends (from earlier novels). It was interesting to read about the meltdown each character experienced. Like every marriage, they have their tender moments and and their difficult ones.
This latest novel by Gunn, and the first in the new series of Todd and Christy's married years, is a good study in marriage for young adults. It is not a difficult nor complex novel. It is entirely suitable for older teen readers, giving them a good look at a Christian marriage relationship under pressure.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through The Book Club Network for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Delightful Must ReadNovember 5, 2014ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Forever With You was an amazing installment to Christy and Todds story. Christy and Todd have been married for almost two years. And in a few months, everything theyve known is flipped upside down. Christy has news for Todd, but shes surprised when Todd does not react the way she had hoped. Soon trouble arises and the couple navigates to Newport Beach where Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob join the story.
While theyre in Newport Beach, Todds dad requests help to renovate his home where everything is a mess. The time in which Christy and Todd find themselves is troubling, but through it they learn to put their faith in God. For them at times, that seems to be hard. The verses and references used by Ms. Gunn really help to show what the couple is going through, and the kind of help they need from God.
This story was awesome! All in all this was a wonderful installment and I cannot wait for the ones that follow. Although I have not read all of the Christy and Todd series, I was able to follow the storyline easily and it has made me want to go back and read the entire series. I have read many of Ms. Gunns books and have loved every one of them. She has once again written a must-read.
I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

Somehow I missed out on the whole Christy Miller series and subsequent friends series that follow some of the characters mentioned in this book. It was not a problem for me because the author tied all the characters in the book with brief but continuing background information. I was first attracted to this book by the storyline of a young married couple and the problems they face as two year newly weds. The husband Todd is a youth minister, and Christy works in a Christian bookstore to help supplement the family income. Whatever disasters that could happen to a couple and test their faith happens to the Spencer's. Their faith and trust in The Lord is fully put to the test. Through it all they learn to wait on The Lord because His timing is the best. The title Forever With You, has a double meaning in my opinion. For me it's fun to read a book and discover where the title fits in and why. A one page intro for the next book in this series has me totally intrigued. Africa? Christy and Todd are always quoting scripture and what it means to them and what it means in their lives. One of my favorites in this book is Psalm 27.
Rachael Merritt3 Stars Out Of 5Sweet Romantic ReadOctober 1, 2014Rachael MerrittQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Forever with You is my first novel by Robin Jones Gunn. I understand this book is a continuation of another series. However, it stood well on its own. It was a sweet story about Christy and Todd and the ups and downs of marriage. I guess I felt that the drama was a bit much on not having a job, but that could be because we have found ourselves in their situation and much worse. So, to me the drama and crashing of characters could have been toned down quite a bit. However, there are great lessons in this book on faith and fully relying on God. I loved the spiritual lessons in the book. It was a quick easy and enjoyable read. I don't say that often about contemporary fiction because a lot of it has little " Christian" in it at all. That wasn't true with this read. So if you are looking for a sweet easy romantic read, I would recommend this book for you. I am glad to be introduced to a new author. I was given this book through bookfun.org for my honest opinion which I have given.
