I was very disappointed with the book. I enjoyed the first two in the series but this one can't stand up to them, as I found the writing and the characters both to be difficult. The writing is choppy and the sentences are at times awkwardly written. It doesn't flow nicely at all which is very distracting.
The characters are as a whole an unlikeable lot, especially the main two or three and I found that became the case even more so as I read the book as opposed to connecting with them as I had hoped. The ending also felt forced. Everything all of a sudden wraps up nicely, especially in the case of Charlotte and Conrad. The other two books in the series were worth reading, both entertaining and full of interesting history, but I can't recommend this third book.
I received this book from Abingdon Press and Netgalley for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own.
