Footprints in the Dark

Excerpt:

A few days later, she woke us up by banging on our bedroom door in the middle of the night. She kept yelling, "I heard somebody walking around and going into the bathroom. The water was running for quite awhile. I thought it was you, but when I went to check, everything was dark and nobody was there " I could tell that she was frightened.

She then refused to be alone. She brought blankets and pillows and slept on the floor next to our bed.

My husband accused me of telling her spooky stories and that now she thought she was hearing things. No matter what happened, he would not believe all that "hocus pocus" because he had never seen or heard anything unusual. This only made me want to keep everything to myself even more. Why take a chance of looking foolish?

Within a week, Felicia's husband drove from Alaska to Arizona to pick up his freaked out bride. When she was saying good-bye, she whispered in my ear, "I don't know how you handle living in this house."

She didn't realize that no mater where I lived, it would be the same.
