Q: I wish I could see an example of the content. Also, do I need a leader's guide (if so, which one?) to do this study with my 7-yr-old?

You need only a Bible to accompany this study book, no leader's guide. Since the book is intended for use by students through 6th grade, the reading level is fairly advanced and younger students may need some assistance in completing it.
