First Hostage, a J.B. Collins novel by Joel C. Rosenberg
Reporting from Jordan, journalist J.B. Collins finds himself the exclusive reporter for the story of the century – the President of the United States is missing and presumed kidnapped, while several other world leaders are gravely injured. Handling this well could make his career! That he and a few friends are suspected of orchestrating the plot and that his life is in imminent danger are just two tiny glitches in this otherwise golden opportunity – if he lives to publish his story!

Not a lull in the entire book!June 23, 2017KrisFairfax, VAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If youve read any books by Joel Rosenberg you know the action begins on page 1 and ends on the last page true again for this book! I just could not put it down as I just kept wanting to know what would happen next! JB Collins seems to always be in the thick of things which gets him into a little (LOT) of trouble this time! And with his world crashing down around him, who can he trust and who can help get him out of his predicaments?
This is an action-packed book with lots of casualties, blood and mayhem. But I appreciated that although the mission had to be accomplished, there was true grief about the lives lost and sorrow for the families. The scope of the carnage just kept getting worse. The magnitude of the Islamic States evil was like nothing I had ever seen or heard of. I would have thought by this point in my career I had seen it all. But clearly I had not. Where was it all leading? What was coming next? How would it end? I had no idea. Suddenly the face of _____ came to my mind. I couldnt believe he was dead. I thought of his kids. I wondered who would tell them and when. I wondered how they were going to bear the loss. Theyd already been through so much.
I found this book to be one I could not put down as it seemed there was never a lull. I highly recommend it to understand the complexity and magnitude of ISIS and the evil occurring in the middle East. I received a copy of this book through bookfun.org. No review was required but I am freely writing one. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I look forward to the next book in this series. The author did a great job as to what might happen if the president of the United States would be kidnapped. Deana4 Stars Out Of 5Front Page ThreatMarch 17, 2017DeanaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love reading fast moving action packed books like the one the author has written. The story could be ripped from the front page news with believable threats to our nation. I loved the details that the author provides that keep you on the edge of your seat.
J. B. Collins is a top notch journalist and finds himself embroiled in the disappearance of the president. The intensity of the story is bone chilling and the race is on to find out who is involved. ISIS has wormed their way into endangering many dignitaries across the world . The author has a vast array of knowledge about the military that makes the story so intriguing. Collins is dedicated to reporting the news without being biased. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a journalist dodging bullets and grenades.
The story is a race against time as the president is in imminent danger and the country is in turmoil. Is there someone feeding information to ISIS? Collins will have to depend on his instincts as the stakes are raised in this thrilling espionage story. The author does not disappoint readers as he takes us on a roller coaster ride of surprises and twist that lead to an explosive end.
I received a copy of this book from The BookClub Network. The review is my own opinion.

This book is so full of action that it is very hard to put down. The story is modern day and so well written that at times I felt I was reading the daily news. The story contains violent war scenes that could be uncomfortable for some. The story would not be as good if the violence were left out. The books left me wondering if this could actually happen someday. Though there are a lot of characters in the story, they are well introduced and easy to follow along with. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read modern day political thrillers.
I received a copy of this book from Book Club Network. I have chosen to write an honest review.
