Author Bio

After taking care of elderly parents, Sandy Lovern realized that there are a plethora of books on the clinical aspect of taking care of loved ones; however, there are none that deal with the emotional feelings of being a caretaker. “It is a new phenomenon for the baby boomer generation and the figures are alarming as to the growing number of individuals who will inevitably find themselves in this situation,” says Sandy. Sandy’s passion for ministry has led her to give birth to a church, Faith Covenant Center, in Immokalee, Florida. Sandy has previously written Engaged! A Devotional to Help a Bride‐to‐Be Navigate Down the Aisle (New Hope Publishers). Sandy and her husband have successfully raised two children and now live in Mulberry, Florida.

Special Features:

  • Author uses stories from her own experience and her parents’, with some stories from contributors.
  • Short‐length chapters make content accessible and helpful for a broad range of caregiver concerns.
  • Scriptures, at the beginning of each chapter, shed God’s light on the process of dealing with the failing health of a loved one.
  • Will attract church groups that minister to the elderly in nursing homes, financial planners, and heath‐care professionals.
  • Suggestions on how to make the best of the situation, as aged or ill transition from their independent lifestyle, to either relative’s own, or settling into an assisted‐living facility/nursing home.
  • Through the chapters, readers will be given ideas on how to: get their loved ones’ lives in order, make tough emotional, logical, and spiritual decisions wisely.
