From bestselling author Elizabeth George (nearly 4 million books sold) comes a book born of her desire
to help others through difficult times. Finding God's Path Through Your Trials acknowledges the hard times we all
face and reveals how people can "count it all joy," including:
- understanding trials are not punishment
- realizing God's grace is sufficient to get them through trials
- knowing the benefits brought by trials-patience, endurance, empathy
- experiencing deeper faith as they depend on God through trials
- trusting God to use everything for His glory
Emphasizing God is always with them and will help them every step of the way, Elizabeth
reminds readers they will not be given trials they cannot bear without including a way of escape. She encourages
people to turn to Jesus, where they will find hope, joy, and meaning in the journey, no matter how bumpy it seems.
Emphasizing God is always with them and will help them every step of the way, Elizabeth reminds readers they will not be given trials they cannot bear without including a way of escape. She encourages people to turn to Jesus, where they will find hope, joy, and meaning in the journey, no matter how bumpy it seems.
George divides her book into five sections, labeling them by the different qualities that can be gained by learning to analyze a trial from a biblical standpoint. The conversational style she maintains throughout her writing creates a visitation environment that allows the reader to be comfortable and relate to Georges personal experiences. Her background also enhances her understanding. Elizabeth George has written several books, including A Woman After Gods Own Heart and Loving God with All Your Mind. She is also a renowned speaker at many Christian womens functions, her ministry years totaling more than 30.
The five sections of Georges book correlate with five of the qualities she believes godly women possess. Becoming a joyful, stable, mature, mighty, and enduring woman is accomplished, according to George, by having faith through trials and overcoming them. She uses a different Bible verse to accompany each section, but she constantly returns to her first reference, James 1:2, Count it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. George makes it clear that choosing to be joyful about lifes trials, along with extensive prayer, is paramount to overcoming problems and growing spiritually.
Overall, George presents some much needed, but seldom discussed material. Her examples relate to the reader in more personal way, allowing women to know that she truly understands. Her need to include steps toward improvement at the end of every section, though, may cause some women to be overwhelmed, especially if they already have overloaded daily agendas. Nevertheless, this book could still be recommended for a small group womens Bible study. Georges storytelling and her testimony allow a lot of room for discussion and sharing of ideas.

I wanted to study English and Bible at the same time. (Efficient, isnt it?) I bought this book only by seeing the title but after reading it, it is written just for me, I thought.
English in this book is relatively easy and the contentent is just for my situation, that is, in trials. From James Chapter 1, Elizabeth explains how to go through trials carefully and repeatedly. I reviewed my daily life and want to improve it according to the Bible verse listed in this book. Thank you very much.

Flo Wolfe2 Stars Out Of 5May 26, 2010Flo WolfeElizabeth George tackles a difficult issue in dealing with trials and suffering. The abundant Bible references take women to the scriptures, but George's questions often fall flat. For example, in lesson 2, the study book aligns two columns of responses to trials and then asks which set we should choose to follow. While this study may help new believers in Christ, there's not much thought-provoking material here for those want to think and apply.

Rose Hartzell5 Stars Out Of 5April 7, 2009Rose HartzellThis is my favorite book, next to the Bible. It can be very helpful, to those that are going through really tough challenges. It is a must have in any Christian home, but also for those who don't know our Lord and Savior and are facing trails they don't understand. It can open a door that you've been praying about, and will encourage you everyday.
