Tell us a little about yourself.  I have been in ministry for over 30 years as a pastor, university researcher and hospice chaplain. I have written for Guideposts' Strength and Grace and enjoy writing music in my free time.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I was motivated to write this book after experiencing the struggles and challenges of dementia caregivers and encountering pastors and others who wanted to help caregivers, but were not sure how to do that.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  If they are a dementia caregiver, I hope they find a sense of hope. If they are a church leader or a friend of a dementia caregiver, I hope they gain confidence and skills in their abilities to support caregivers.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  This book came out of my research with spouses of Alzheimer's patients. After it's initial publication, I went back and expanded it to include the experiences of children caring for a parent.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I am greatly influenced by the authors and artists I adore including Beth Moore and Michael W. Smith

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  If readers would like information about my work or need resources for forming a dementia ministry please visit my website: elizabethshulman.com
