In Finding Quiet, J.P. Moreland pairs personal experience and research to bring a great addition to the mental health conversation. Having suffered with deep anxiety and depression, Moreland talks about the journey he has been on both physically and spiritually as he has worked toward health.

In addition to seeking the help of medical professionals, he also began to cultivate spiritual practices, which he unpacks in detail within the book. He writes knowledgeably and accessibly with great compassion for his reader.

I would recommend this book to those who suffer from anxiety and depression as well as those who have loved ones who suffer from such illnesses. I would also urge pastors seeking to understand such a prevalent health concern within their congregation.

There is not much discussion or compassion within the church for those on their own mental health journey and Moreland's book is here to set a new precedent. He removes the need to feel shame or hide mental health struggles and instead sheds light on solutions and ultimately points to hope. Finding Quiet will be a resource for years to come!
