Publisher's Description

Off the charts and on the run.

International pop star Margo Hartman could use a night off. A grueling tour and overbearing entourage have sent her over the edge. It’s time for this diva to disappear. And who would think to look for the superstar in a small town in Ohio?

Sheriff’s deputy Brock Moore is undercover as well. He knows Margo isn’t who she appears to be, but her uncanny resemblance to a local Amish woman is raising all sorts of questions. . .the kinds that make her a target for a killer.

Both are determined to find answers, but their mutual attraction stands in the way of either of them doing it alone. Is finding Margo the solution to Brock’s problems or just the beginning…?

Quirky, fun and laugh out loud!

Finding Margo is just as quirky and fun as Jen Turano's historical novels. It's filled with more than one mystery, though they do seem to all be connected in some way, and a bunch of weird characters that will either have you laugh out loud or shake your head in disbelief. It's contemporary romance at its core. I like the interactions between Brock and Margo, and would love to see more of Sebastian, the stylist that is way cooler than one would think. And there's one very smart duck named Gabby, that doesn't just like to gab, but a duck that has the personality that rivals any diva. Margo hit it out of the park. She is funny and genuine. She doesn't sound like a diva, given that she is a "pop princess," and that's what makes it so much fun. If I need to pick one word to describe Finding Margo, it would be FUN. That word have stuck in my head since I started reading this book.

There's more than you think that's happening here. More than a pop star wanting some peace and quiet, or a deputy sheriff that's more than he seems to be. There's more than a little accident and more than what meets the eye in the quaint little Amish town of Millersburgh, Ohio. Then the message one wouldn't expect, but it's there, hightailing itself into your mind. What we can expect is the same humor we see in the author's historical novels in Finding Margo. Bizarre scenarios and eccentric personalities will drive you to finish this novel in one sitting, and for me, I would love to continue on this series to find all the answers this town needs for peace. How soon can the author write, and the publisher publish may be your question as you turn the last page.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

Jen Turano is one of my all time favorites, I love her writing style and this one does not disappoint. This novel is full of fun, mystery, danger, Amish, family, laughter, tragedy and so much more. It will keep you interested from the beginning to the end. You will find yourself laughing out loud and maybe even a little anxious at times too. It is book one in the Finding Home Series and I look forward to reading book two.

Margo Hartman has everything she could ever imagine, except maybe some time off. When she decides to run away and hide she is not expecting all that is in store for her in this quirky Amish town in Ohio, However she has unexpectedly been stranded in for a time.

Brock More is a handsome and determined man. He is not sure what to think of Margo when he first meets her and feels she is hiding something, which he has secrets of his own as well.

Brock and Margo must find ways to uncover the truth in this town with out drawing unwanted attention to themselves.

I liked Margo Hartman right away. She is a nice girl despite her superstar celebrity status, neurotic mother, and mostly absent father. Margo has a spunky personality and an independent streak that literally grows by the mile as she drives across the country and away from the craziness of her life as a pop star.

Finding Margo has a great mix of humor, attraction, suspense, and faith. I enjoyed the glimpse of Amish and Mennonite cultures and I am looking forward to the next book in the series and more contemporary fiction from Jen Turano!

I loved this book! I enjoyed the comedy and the characters so much! Even the duck! I couldn't put it down. Margo and Brock just meshed well; it was like they knew each other their whole lives. Margo was a fun character to get to know. I just love all of Jen Turano's books. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

Jen Turano is one of my favorite authorsI have thoroughly enjoyed each of her historical romances. As she has ventured into a new genre, one that I am not especially quick to pick up, I wondered if her trademark humor would translate to contemporary romance with suspenseful elements. I am thrilled to say that it did indeed work in this instance and Im excited for the next book in this series, as well as her upcoming historical releases.

This book would not have necessarily been one I would have picked up without a favorite authors name on the cover; a Pop Princess hiding in Amish country sounds entertaining with the inevitable culture clash, but I usually prefer stories set in a past time. What I found really interesting in this novel, however, is how Turano focuses on what makes Margo similar to those of the Mennonite and Amish faith she meets, rather than their differences. It is a fresh take on the Amish/English encounter and I found I enjoyed it much more than I would have if it had gone the direction I predicted.

I did worry that perhaps the authors humorous voice would be tamped down in a more serious, suspenseful novel, but that was not the caseI found myself laughing out loud in several moments. Laughter is not the only emotion that I experienced while reading, either; I think it may be the first time I cried while reading a Jen Turano novel. Many, many beautiful passages placed me within the story alongside the characters, inviting me to live in Ohio for a while and share their experiences.

In addition to the ever present humor that I hoped for, the romance is also excellent and will please those who enjoy sweet love stories coming about in unlikely, but somehow realistic, circumstances. Themes of belonging, family, grief, joy, greed, and Gods will for each of us are also explored. It is a well-rounded book with a lot to offer readers who enjoy many different genres.

Overall, while Ill still prefer historical fiction over contemporary, I am happy that Jen Turano ventured into a new genre, taking me (not quite kicking and screaming) with her. I would highly recommend this novel to those who enjoy humorous writing regardless of setting, and I hope that this book garners her new fans who maybe wouldnt be interested in picking up a historical novel until experiencing her writing.

I received a free copy of this book through Celebrate Lit but no compensation for this review. I was not required to write a favorable one and the opinions expressed are both honest and my own.
