I always enjoyed the old TV westerns when I got an opportunity to watch them. But 30 minutes or an hour is not long enough to really develop the characters, the plot, or much else. It was simply good versus evil and good always won. Most of the time, only the bad guys died. Don't look for a stock formula in this book. The story goes so much deeper than a woman with a past going to Tombstone to help her ailing mother, meeting a man, and finding love. The hero and heroine have experienced a lot that they would rather forget, but they aren't the only ones. It's a common theme in life that we are all seeking something and often don't know what it is. Or we think we are looking for love and look in all the wrong places. Miralee Ferrell so brilliantly tells a story in which that search takes a lot of twists and turns but it ultimately boils down to being able to accept God's forgiveness and then forgive ourselves and others. The message comes through very clearly but not in a preachy manner. To paraphrase something someone said about me years ago, Miralee Ferrell can preach an excellent sermon without the reader even suspecting it. I strongly recommend the book to lovers of inspirational Christian fiction. I received a copy of the book from the publisher. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
