Tell us a little about yourself. My journey began as the son of a once well-known Christian leader in southern California who left me devastated and fatherless as a young boy, after plotting and attempting to murder my mother. The devastation of my childhood scarred me for life, spiraling me into distress and self-destruction. Yet, I discovered something stronger than the pain of life along the way, something that can heal the scars, or someone who will never leave us or abandon us. As a public speaker I often share about the scars of being fatherless and the devastation it has on our society, and our lives.
I share about the hope and healing that comes from our heavenly Father and the restoration that our nation needs. As an engineer and entrepreneur I was on the path to early retirement when God unmistakably changed the course of my life. After seeing my business crash and burn during the US recession, living on the edge of destitution trying to survive and start my life over from nothing, I was taken by a hostile government while crossing an international border for a new job. I was held in a horrific prison and subjected to terrifying events that took me to my lowest point, while separating me from my family. From a guy who didnt even have a traffic ticket, when I was seized and thrown into prison without any explanation, my heavenly Father got my attention and altered my journey.
I was born and raised in the US where I lived in many different locations for work and business, including the US, Saudi Arabia, and other abroad locations throughout my life. Im married to a wonderful wife with two children who are my number one ministry. Today I live in Toronto and travel to share my passion for life and overcoming the devastation of insurmountable storms that life brings. My passions and pursuits, in addition to being a father and husband, include the pursuit of the spiritual presence that has guided me through my journey, my heavenly Father.
What was your motivation behind this project? It started as a journey for my kids so they would know their heavenly Father and how involved he has been in our lives even before they were born. I started sharing my story with a few guys and I was encouraged to write it down. I told God that if this was his will Id pursue it, Id show up. I started writing one day at a time and he provided the next. Months later God put all the right people across my path and I had all the pieces I needed to publish this journey. My first nationwide interview was the week the book was released. Im not a guy with great connections in the book industry, but my heavenly Father is.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is a fast paced thriller, but it is also deep and personal. It deals with the impacts of being fatherless, the evil and darkness this world puts us through, but most of all it deals with the hope and healing that comes from our heavenly Father. It is the journey from the father who caused the scars to the Father who heals them. I hope that readers start this journey but cant put it down. I pray that God moves my readers in a personal way that impacts their lives.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My heavenly Father challenged me to share my story publically. I did wonder if others would think I was crazy as my story does seem extreme to some. I share my challenges and my flaws in hopes of showing how wonderful my heavenly Father is. He loves you more than you could ever imagine. My life was pretty screwed up and he put my life back together and continues to walk with me through my challenges every day, but I never walk alone.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The story is told from three intertwined perspectives. The first is the unfolding of my childhood living beyond the trauma trying to figure out why I did the things I did. Unseen miracles seem to follow me, even though I didnt see the guiding presence that never abandoned me. The second unfolds from a horrific prison experience where I reflect on my childhood while being detained by a hostile government. While crossing international borders on a business trip I was seized and held without explanation, which put me face to face with prison gangs, a riot, and terrifying captors. The third peels back a supernatural veil exposing a paranormal battle for my soul involving creatures of darkness and an unseen presence of light, my heavenly Father.
Based on a true story, Finding My Father will take you on a journey from the father who caused the scars, to the one who heals them. It is an inspiring story based on my real life events that may shock you as it exposes the darkness of this physical world seeking all of us.
