So this book is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know youre on to him and that you wont back down. Because with every new strategy you build, youre turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of Gods Spirit.
New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of todays women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion, refocusing their identity, negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets, navigating impossible schedules, succeeding against temptation, weathering their worst fears, uprooting bitterness, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemys cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis.
Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, dont-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.

blessedX55 Stars Out Of 5A must read!April 23, 2017blessedX5Quality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This book- about fervent, life-changing prayer- was so very beautiful! I had to stop highlighting parts of it, because it was becoming close to being the whole book! I seldom do rereads and I plan to read this again in the near future. The prayer ideas were very relatable and the Bible passages spoke to me. I feel by convicted by the chapter on forgiveness, especially. I have already ordered a physical copy for my bookshelf.
* I received a digital copy of this book from a Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
alwaysreadingAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5An Outstanding BookApril 2, 2017alwaysreadingAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Fervent is one of those books that you just know you will want read again and again. I have read many books on prayer, but very few come close to a five star rating. A couple of things that make this book stand out for me, the first being the way the author has written this book. She writes as if she is sitting across from you and the two of you are having a conversation. She doesn't use big fancy words, she is not preachy, not judgmental, but writes as one friend speaking to another. As one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.
The second thing is at the beginning of each chapter she starts with the sentence "If I were your enemy I would.." And each chapter talks about the ways that our enemy ambushes and attacks us, some of which we might already be familiar with, while others might be new to us. She includes several scripture verses related to each chapters theme. A place for the reader to start in memorizing scripture and praying for others.
I believe that all prayer is valuable, but I also believe that a person can grow beyond the check off list. One of the enemy's lies that a lot of Christians buy into is, "I'm not a prayer warrior or I just don't have the time." The author encourages us to spend as much time as possible in prayer. Prayer is worship and the more you pray the more God a lines your will to His and the more you will crave that communion with God.
While my house does not support a prayer closet, I have decided that I need to "bake my home in prayer".
The author has a wonderful sense of humor and there were places in the book she had me laughing so hard I was crying. She encourages the reader to write in the book, tear out it's pages for others, and in the back she includes tear out note cards so that we may write out who we are praying for.
There is a reason this book won best book of 2016.
I have bought several copies and am prayerfully deciding who I should give them to.
