Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear.
They're talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison of unlocked doors. Wouldn't it be great to walk out?
Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, where you could trust more and fear less.
Can you imagine your life without fear?
More than 120 million readers have found inspiration and encouragement in the writings of Max Lucado. He lives with his wife, Denalyn, and their mischievous mutt, Andy, in San Antonio, Texas, where he serves the people of Oak Hills Church.
"If there is an emotion that leads to a life of boredom, it's fear. Consider this book a pep speech in the corner during a boxing match. It's you against all your imagination can throw at you. Thanks Max for giving us the courage to actually live!" - Don Miller, best-selling author of Blue Like Jazz
In every business endeavor, a lifetime of experience and dozens of years of education are worthless, if fear is holding you back. Max has put into powerful terms the secret to overcoming fear, so that one may take the exciting plunge into future success. Fearless is a must-read for anyone who is ready to discover a life or career that is filled with more strength and triumph - Marcus Buckingham, author of Find Your Strongest Life

Meagan5 Stars Out Of 5FearlessJune 3, 2015MeaganQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My dad gave me this book while I was in college, but I didn't read it, right off the bat. Once graduation was upon me and I started to worry about my future, where I would live, and wonder if I would find a job, I (not by coincidence, I'm sure) stumbled across the book and decided to read it. As an upcoming college graduate, it was an absolutely perfect read. My fears, doubts, worries, and stresses were all addressed in this book. I even remember reading a sentence in the book that mentioned the worries and anxieties following college graduation! I felt that it was written just for me.
Since college, I have read and re-read this book numerous times. I've referenced it when I changed jobs, endured a devastating break up, lost friends, and time periods when I started to lose faith that everything would be OK in the end.
I recommend this book for high school graduates, college graduates, anyone transferring jobs, moving cities, getting married, or for someone that needs a reminder to live life fearlessly and to let go of control, give it over to God, and live each day to its fullest. It's a book that someone will constantly return to throughout his/her lifetime.
One more thing: I really like the layout of the book. I didn't necessarily have to read the book from chapter 1 to understand what Max Lucado is referencing in Chapter 6. I can skip around, read the chapters that apply to my situation, and still get as much enjoyment and fulfillment as if I would have read the entire book from cover to cover.
If you're contemplating on whether or not to buy this book, don't hesitate. You'll enjoy it and experience peace while and after reading it! God bless.
