Edmond SanganyadoRiverside, CAAge: 25-34Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 53 Questions about the Holy Spirit that will transform your lifeAugust 6, 2014Edmond SanganyadoRiverside, CAAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Towards the end of His three and half year ministry on earth, Jesus assured believers that His death was not a divine baby dumping, rather He was sending another Comforter. During His ministry on earth, Jesus went around Galilee, taught in synagogues, proclaimed the good news of the kingdom, and healed every disease and sickness among the people. Jesus comforted people through teaching, preaching and healing of disease. Standing by the side of the suffering in their pain and anguish marked his ministry. Like a jack, He stood by the frame of belief systems and lifted up the flat tire of wretched life. When Jesus told the disciples He was leaving, it was like pulling the jack before changing the flat tire, so the people were worried. Jesus assured them the Holy Spirit, who was another Comforter, was coming. Unfortunately, recent Barna studies reveal most American Christians do not believe the Holy Spirit exists. They have rejected the assurance of comfort that Christ gave the believers.
In the masterfully scripted and well researched book, Father, Son, and the Other One: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Transforming, Empowering Reality in Your Life, Jeff Kennedy explores the importance of knowing the Holy Spirit. The book is divided into three parts, each part answering a specific question that highlights why we should care about the Holy Spirit. These three questions about the Holy Spirit will transform your life.
(i) Who is the Holy Spirit and why should we care?
Knowing the Holy Spirit is a person and not a mere spiritual force out there can revolutionize our relationship with the Father and the Son. Outside of the Holy Spirit, we cannot have a constant fellowship with the Father and Son.
(ii) What on earth is the Spirit doing today?
Jeff Kennedy answers this question by detailing the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit, that includes our guarantee, inheritance and empowerment. Finally,
(iii) How do I embrace life in the Spirit today?
Our call as Christians is not to follow some dos and donts, but fellowship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In order for us to experience this glorious fellowship we need to walk in the Spirit, that is the guidance of the Spirit. Jeff concludes this great book by looking at how to walk in the Spirit.
This book is a good read, and will be helpful to anyone who wants to live a transformed life. Many people are skeptical about the Holy Spirit, justifiably so because of the unbiblical practices that often erupted following some charismatic revivals or renewals. If you are such a person, I recommend this book to you. The fresh look at the Person of the Holy Spirit will provide you some great answers. This book compliments well Francis Chans Forgotten God.

Jeff Kennedy's "Father, Son and the Other One" was written to show that the Holy Spirit is more than just doctrine. He is a Living Being we can all experience in our lives as we accept Christ and yearn for the power of the Spirit to manifest in our lives so that we can be productive members of God's church. We need to get to know Him in order to take advantage of His presence and power.
"Father, Son and the Other One" is divided into three parts. Part one defines who the Spirit is and why we should get to know Him. Part two reveals what the Spirit's mission is and what He is doing on Earth today. Part three teaches us how to embrace the Spirit in our lives. It was tempting to skip ahead to part three, but Kennedy's insights are relevant and pertinent to our understanding of the Spirit and why we should desire His presence in our lives. The Holy Spirit was not God's afterthought, but is a part of God's plan for our lives.
Kennedy's book is transforming and empowering and makes the Spirit real. It is one of the best books on the Holy Spirit that I have seen published lately.
