Bullying is also addressed.
Freddy is a new kid in the sea school and he looks like a cross between a shark and an octopus a most unusual combination! Unfortunately, at first the other sea students make fun of his differences but then his physical traits become an advantage at the championship swim races.
I loved the cute story and the illustrations were superb. And we loved looking for the little fish symbol on each page. The book closes with a message to kids to pray. I really thought this was a great book and I highly recommend it for preschoolers and early elementary. I received this book from bookfun.org in return for my honest opinion.
Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5My kids love this seriesJune 30, 2016Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Once again, my daughter and I enjoyed one of the books in the Adventures of the Sea Kids Series. This book is about Freddy, a new kid in school. Freddy is a little different and the kids make fun of him. But the teacher steps in and shows them that different can be good, when you get to know someone. They figure out that Freddy is a fast swimmer and a really great asset to the team.
The moral of this story is instead of making fun of someone who is different, look for the good in them. Find out what they like to do, and what you have in common, then use that to bond as friends.
My eight year old really likes reading these books. She also loves looking for the hidden pictures as we read. The illustrations are so bright and well done. They really add to the story as the characters come to life.

'Fast Freddy' is about a group of sea world creatures who are making fun of Freddy who has the head of a shark and the body of an octopus.
Miss Mermaid, the teacher, and Mr. Seahorse, the janitor, point out that they are different too - that being different can be a very good thing.
The message of this book addresses bullying. It talks about accepting someone even if they are different.
I liked Freddy's closing prayer. I read this book to the children at my daycare. They loved the hidden fish symbols throughout the story.
I received this book for free from The Book Club Network and the author in exchange for my honest review.
nkwbookreviewer5 Stars Out Of 5Grandson Loved this Awesome BookMay 3, 2016nkwbookreviewerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Fast Freddy by author Lee Ann Mancini is an award winning, 32 page, over-sized paperback book for children. It is vibrantly illustrated with beautiful sea pictures that will capture children's attention and imagination. While you children will enjoy it, so will older ones. My 7 year old grandson thought it was "awesome". He has read it multiple times. It is funny, has a story kids can understand and relate to as well as teaches them lessons.
This enchanting book tells the underwater tale of Freddy, part shark and part octopus. He is different from the other fish in his new school. When they begin making fun of him, he becomes sad. (A good lesson for children not to make fun of someone different.) The teacher, Miss Mermaid, tells the students they should not make fun of someone because he is different. When the kids find out he is a strong, fast swimmer, Freddy is talked into being on the swim team and for the first time his school has a chance to win. This sweet book provides many learning opportunities and spiritual messages: pray, thank God for making you who you are, don't make fun of people, have Jesus in your heart, and that sometimes being different is a good thing. At the end of the book the author tells readers to go back through each page and look for a hidden ichthus. This was a nice surprise.
It is easy to see why this book won awards. It is wonderful. I gave it a 5 out of 5 star rating and would highly recommend it. A copy was provided by The Book Club Network for my honest review.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a wife, mother, and an adjunct professor at South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary. I love to read and teach God's word! I attend Calvary Chapel & Spanish River Christian church.
What was your motivation behind this project? Clearly the Lord! I wrote this series of books when my children were little. I put them on the shelf but always felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to go forth in this project, to publish these important children's books.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Children need to have a strong, foundational relationship with Jesus at an early age. We need to show them that they can trust Jesus and can be like Him. Children need to have compassion and love for others. The foundation must be set early!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? When I read at the schools, I ask the children who they pray to. They always say God. It is amazing to see how they start to understand that it also Jesus they need! It's through the Son they reach the Father. I love to see them wanting to pray to Jesus and wanting to be kind to others.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? There are many scholars I love. However, anything written by Dr. Warren Gage is just amazing! Some others are: Max Lucado, Randy Alcorn, C.S. Lewis, Phillip Yancey and John Piper.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: This is a two-fold mission: First, to bring the littles once closer to Christ in prayer by building that strong. foundation. Second, to raise money for Christian children charities. This is my passion and my mission! I pray for all of God's children everyday! Lord help us be more like you!
