Twins are fascinating characters to read about and Elma and Thelma Hochstetler are two very interesting characters, for sure and certain. Thelma has married Joseph and they're now expecting their first boppli. Elma has now living alone in the big house they twins had shared. It is a lonely house as well. Thelma and Joe live just across the street, but Elma and Thelma have never lived apart from each other until now.

Elma fears that she will never know the sweet love of marriage and even sweeter kisses of a newborn. The twins are in their mid-thirties which is considered old to be marrying and starting a family amongst the Amish. Elma longs to know the happiness that her sister has found. Up to this point, Elma has not found her perfect man. Will she ever find him?

This is such a light-hearted, fun read. It made me laugh and find great pleasure in the lives of the characters. I really enjoyed The Lopsided Christmas Cake and this sequel might be even better. I highly recommend this book to lovers of Amish fiction and Christian romance.

I am rating this book 5 stars!

Wanda and Jean Brunstetter have done it again - a great book. I love Amish fiction - I envy their simpler life at times. I was really starting to feel sorry for Elma - 34 and unmarried. She was set in her ways - but was lonely once her twin sister married and moved across the road. This story brings Elma through some changes and she does find love but struggles where she would live if she married her new beau Ben. Once again love prevails.

    My Review

This book is the Sequel to The Lopsided Christmas Cake by Wanda Brunstetter and her daughter in law Jean Brunstetter. I love Wandas books and if you like her as well as I do, you will not be disappointed.

This book is about Elma Hochstetler along with her twin who is married now and expecting a baby. Elma feels lonely without having Thelma with her all the time, but it is ok since Thelma is expecting a baby. Elma is running a store without her twin and she has to hire a helper in the store, Lizzie. Everyone calls her Dizzy Lizzy. All she wants to do is talk to customers and not do her work but Elma manages.

Elma goes to the Farmers Market and then meets Ben Wagler from another town, Grabill, Illinois. Elma starts seeing Ben a lot but her sister is afraid that Elma will move away and Elma doesnt want to move away either. So, Elma breaks up with Ben and hates to do it, but she has to.

This is such a GREAT book, I know that you will want to read this. I loved it and thank you Wanda and Jean for giving us all such a GREAT book to read.

I wont say anything else, I dont want to spoil the book for you. I really would suggest this book to read, it is a GREAT one. I couldnt hardly put it down. I would definitely suggest this book to my family and friends.

Thank you Barbour Publishing, for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give this review.

Another great book from Wanda Brunstetter. Since I grew up in a community that included Amish I feel Wanda has a good understanding of the culture of this people. She can also show that no matter your background and beliefs there are a lot of things all human beings share. One of those is deciding if God has planned for you to remain single or to marry. This was a dilemma for Elma Hochstetler. Her twin, Thelma had married and was expecting her first child. So, there were the natural questions of where Elmas life was headed. She was thrilled for her sister, yet, that desire to marry and have her own family was there. Plus, in her situation, they had shared the work of running a store together and Thelma wasnt able to help much anymore. In addition, somehow, in all cultures, those around us want us to have what they have, (if they are happy in their situation), so there were those subtle blind dates where others would be invited to a meal.

In another community probably 50 miles away, Ben Wagler had very similar problems. He lived with his mother, and she felt one of the young ladies in their community was just the right match. Ben didnt see it. She was a nice enough person and attractive, but much younger, and there just wasnt a feeling toward her. Yet, his mother insisted on having an extra for meals periodically, hoping hed figure it out as Mom wanted.

So, needless to say, Ben and Elma met (with a little mishap) at the Farmers Market. The story revolves around how they carried on a long distance relationship for a while. And, how others around them really wanted them to care for the local people because, after all, one of them would have to move, and that meant change. Each individual was also considering this. Could they move? Would the other be willing to move? Should they even consider marriage? How would this affect everyone?

After a series of events the conclusion comes but, I wont give that away. In fact, I thought it would be different. Hows that for suspense? I enjoyed this neat little book and recommend it to those that enjoy this type of story.

Although this is a sequel and I hadnt read the other book, I felt that I wasnt missing part of the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
