Tell us a little about yourself. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and co-leader with my husband, Hal, of BridgeBuilders int'l Leadership Network, a transformational prayer ministry located on the beautiful campus of Arizona Christian University. I am the author of five books, including The Prayer Saturated Church, Prayer Saturated Kids, The Prayer Saturated Family, Reclaim a Generation: 21 Days of Prayer for Schools (volumes 1 and 2, and Fire on the Family Altar. I am a prophetic teacher and conference speaker, focusing on family and revival.
What was your motivation behind this project? I have seen the pain and brokenness of families across the nation. As I prayed about this, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Revival will come to America when the family altar is restored." It is true that as the family goes so goes the nation. Revival starts at home!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is my hope that couples and families will see miracles as they put the truths of this book into practice--more peace and less conflict, prodigals coming back to the Lord, miraculous provision and favor.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My husband, Hal, and I wrote much of this book together. It was amazing how the Lord spoke to us about our own marriage and family as we wrote by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. After the release of the book, we began to hear how families were being restored as they put the principles into practice. We heard of couples reading through the book together, taking turns reading the chapters-- and how putting into practice the truths in the book brought reconciliation and revitalization to their relationship. So my husband and I began reading our own book together, a couple of chapters a night. It's been transformative!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have been greatly influenced by the teachings on prayer by Dutch Sheets. His book, Intercessory Prayer, was life-changing for me. The Christian leader I most admire is Billy Graham. He served the Lord sacrificially, and with integrity, and he brought many people into the kingdom.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hear the Lord saying, "If you will build an altar in your home, I will come to your family and to your nation." By "altar" I am not talking about building a structure of wood or stone. When we speak of a "family altar" we are talking about establishing times when we come together to meet with God and invite His Holy Spirit into our home in a way that changes the atmosphere. The family becomes more God-centered, and His presence begins to affect our relationships and the activities that take place in our home.
