Lini536Cambridge, MAAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Learn from the 'Ultimate Master'!December 19, 2017Lini536Cambridge, MAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5An obvious play on Star Wars, of course, but this version of the Bible, aimed at young children (ages 6-10) works.
Dispersed throughout are 'stand alone' pages entitled 'Use the Force', 'Ways of Wisdom' and 'Master Moment'. These pages highlight the areas of the Bible that the reader may find useful. For example, on one of these pages, it asks "what does the bible say about": and lists a number of feelings and issues that someone may be experiencing such as anger, happiness, death, love, revenge and where to find the guiding passage, be it from Psalm's, Matthew or Deuteronomy.
This a well thought out Bible. It guides the reader to not only look at the main text of the Word, but aides a young person in finding spiritual guidance. I really liked that it asked questions such as 'Who is God' and offered passages to read and consider if you're feeling lonely, jealous or struggling to be honest. Whilst its geared at young readers, it would work for anyone of any age (especially Star Wars fans!). A recommended read.

Starwarmom3 Stars Out Of 5Not a fanMarch 19, 2017StarwarmomQuality: 3Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1This book is written on the level of a preschooler with the concepts presented, and the only way it relates to Star Wars is because of the headings listed on each page. Not Biblically challenging.

Fitzysmom4 Stars Out Of 5Review from Rambles of a SAHMDecember 15, 2015FitzysmomQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4If you've got a kiddo that's crazy about Star Wars or outer space in general this is the perfect devotional for them!
One of the habits that we encourage in our home is daily devotions. Each year I try to find new ones that will pique the interest of the intended recipient. May The Faith Be With You has my grandson's name written all over it.
I find the whole retro look of the book very appealing. It definitely reflects the time period of the first Star Wars movie. If you were around back then think about what hardback books were like. Remember the glossy cover and the newsprint type of pages? That's just what this book is like. It may be lost on the current generation but I found it fun.
Each day's reading has four different sections. The first is the daily Scripture reference. It is short and sweet but you are encouraged at the beginning of the book to also read the verses around it. (I always say to read the whole chapter to get context!)
The second section is entitled Master Moment. This is the devotion itself. The words encapsulate what the main point of the Scripture message was. The third section is called Ways Of Wisdom. This portion gives a little bit more information about the given Scripture.
The final section is called Use The Force. It is like a jumping off point for your closing prayer. I like how it gets the reader started but also allows them to continue on with their prayer time.
The Scripture contained is from the NIrV which is written on a 3rd grade reading level. Perfect for the 8-12 year old!
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
FarmeretteCincinnati, OhAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great first devotional!November 12, 2015FarmeretteCincinnati, OhAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 5May The Faith Be With You is a devotional book with a cute name. It has a sturdy hard back cover and was obviously a play on words (movies) with the new Star Wars movie coming out in Dec. What perfect timing! The 180 devotions within this book are short and to the point, making this a great beginning devotional. I think it would best suit children between the ages of 6-10.
Each page has a bible verse, a master moment, ways of wisdom and use the force.
Scripture: The scripture is self explanatory.
Master Moments: Remind us of Gods love and provide the main idea with the devotion. These moments can also be used as a review at a later time.
Ways of Wisdom: Tells about the story from the scripture that was read.
Use the force: These words help you get started praying. Feel free to add to them or change them to make them fit you better. Remember, prayer is your time to talk to and listen to God. Sometimes you may even want to say, God I am listening and sit and quietly wait to hear from God.
In the back of the book is a list of all the scriptures and what devotion they go with. The reader could easily use this as a quick reference guide or highlight their favorite scripture verses.
