Chuck Colson may have, at one time, been a fellow in the wrong place at the right time (read Nixon's White House), but he used that shame to become a good servant of the One True King. This book spells out the reasons for our faith, even in the face of criticism from those who think they have all the answers, and the idiotic atheists whose eyes and ears are closed to what is obvious to those who view God's glory in every direction, regurgitating the same stupid arguments as those before them, never bringing anything new to the table. This book is a great tool for explaining why we believe in what we cannot see or touch, but from what we do see, tells us with confidence what IS - the Great I AM, and His Son, our Lord. I will doubtless use the inspiring stories and history to win my sisters and other disbelievers over to the Lord, and be grateful His Holy Spirit gives us the right words at the right times in others' lives and trials. I highly recommend this book to those with any lingering doubts or stubborn family and friends who still won't see the Light of the World!
Great book with great insight of what being a real Christian/Christ follower is all about. It shows the difference between being a Christ follower versus just a "Christian." Thanks, Chuck. Our group loved the book and video.
Books arrived promptly and in excellent condition, and because we ordered a dozen books, shipping was free. We were VERY pleased! Christianbook.com is definitely where we will go to place future orders.
Very well done. Mr. Colson provides a very good and biblical presentation of Christianity without any denominational prejudice. Also, he includes a lot of historical and cultural influeneces that have shaped the true Church - the body of Christ. In particular, he shows that the early church was very much on the same page in every aspect of important doctrine because the Bible was the source of that doctrine. The modern drift away from sound doctrine in the domoninations of the modern Christian churches is because they have drifted away from the one and only true source of truth - the Word of God. Very well written and a very timely expose of the roots of Christianity and how the modern church has left it's first love.
