Tell us a little about yourself. Born & raised on the Southside of Chicago, I was brought up by two loving parents and a God fearing household. I'm an ordained minister of the gospel for over 21 years. Married for nearly 12 years to a beautiful wife and father of a beautiful daughter.
What was your motivation behind this project? This book started out as a sermon that I preached over 7 years ago. A Deacon of my church told me that needed to write a based on the message. Since then I would continue to preach this message across the country and received the same response from others. After careful thought and much prayer, I believed God, began to write and here we are!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that believers will develop their faith in God despite what life may bring. I also hope that people will learn how to keep worship a top priority to God and discover how their worship keeps God in the game. A thirst and hunger for God in our daily lives is critical when seeking Him for his help beyond our own abilities.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I'm learning how to be more determined in trusting God more than I've ever had before. I'm pursuing Him in areas that I've never intentionally pursued Him in before. I'm learning how to be comforted in areas that I would normally allow to disturb my peace and I'm learning how to trust God in areas of who to rely on in times of my vulnerability and fragility.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? This may sound a little preachy, but God is my inspiration. I love the encouragement of family and friends whom I truly believe God uses to show me how deep is His love and care is for me. However, when I can't get the help and support that I need from family and friends, I can look to Him for what I need the most like a listening ear, a word of comfort and the push I need to keep moving forward by faith.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Keep trusting in God. Allow yourself to be open as to how God does a thing in your life. It may not be done the way that you want it, but God is a perfecter of setting a course of action for you that's designed to strengthen you, improve you and even humble you to help you realize that you need Him more than you could ever imagine.
