John C. Maxwell has the answer---the difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure. Most people are never prepared to deal with failure. Maxwell says that if you are like him, coming out of school, you feared it, misunderstood it, and ran away from it. But Maxwell learned to make failure his friend, and he can teach you to do the same. "I want to help you learn how to confidently look the prospect of failure in the eye and move forward anyway," he says. "Because in life, the question is not if you will have problems, but how you are going to deal with them."
Maxwell covers the top reasons people fail and shows you how to master fear instead of being mastered by it. You'll discover that positive benefits can accompany negative experiences---if you have the right attitude. Chock full of action suggestions and real-life stories, Failing Forward will help you move beyond mistakes to fulfill your potential and achieve success. So stop failing backward and start failing forward!

I've had some great "ah-ha!" moments. After reading the first chapter, I passed the book onto a friend to encourage him and purchased another for myself.
I expect to reread "Failing Forward" to keep the positive flow going.
Carolee Schultz5 Stars Out Of 5December 4, 2009Carolee SchultzA leadership class instructor/friend lent me his book. I loved it so much I am buying my own and will be buying it for others as well. I have suffered perfectionism most of my life and lived with haunting failures and being afraid to go forward. Now I realize I needed those failures to grow to successes. John Maxwell has done a suberb job telling wonderful stories of many people-their failures which were important parts of their lives and growth. So then, were they really failures? Are yours?
