I have been fortunate to study a preview copy of Mindy Ferguson's Eyewitness to Majesty. She describes more than Peter's time with Jesus Christ on earth by using Peter's internal struggles and responses as lessons for women today. Although the study reveals the life of a rugged fisherman, Mindy applies these lessons to 21st century women, allowing us to identify similar problems and apply biblical principles. She weaves appropriate passages from the Old and New Testaments into each lesson.

The study defines and describes unfamiliar Greek and Hebrew vocabulary and customs, yet is easy to understand. Each section concludes with penetrating questions, biblical application and suggestions for prayer. In love, Mindy calls us to take a harsh look at ourselves and guides us to scripture to draw us closer to God. On a personal level - Eyewitness to Majesty: Peter: Abandoning Self for Christ (Eyewitness Bible Studies) has provided a spiritual motivator when and where I needed it!

Peter is one of my favorite characters in the bible. I can relate to his passion for Jesus and the ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. This 10-week bible study displays God's transforming power in the life of a sinner. Each week is divided into five lessons designed to be completed daily. This is good bible study to do on your own or in a group. Mindy Ferguson does an excellent job of providing the background and history during the time of Peter along with in-depth scripture. Each lesson will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you are looking for a wonderful study to help you dig deeper in the Word and learn more about God's transforming power, this would be a great bible study to add to your quiet time.

I just finished Mindy Ferguson's, Bible Study, Peter, Eyewitness to Majesty.

What a great in-depth study on Peter's walk from the first 'follow me' till his death. In this 10 week study I learned a lot about Peter, Jesus and myself.

Peter is an ordinary man, a fisherman, he was eager, impulsive, quick to speak, acted without thinking, and learned to turn his weaknesses into strengths. This could be me on any given day.

We watched Peter take risks, we watched him fail and we watched him succeed, Peter was commissioned to spread God's word and everything that happened to him made him into the man who traveled and shared the gospel with so many.

A few of the great things this study reminded me of was that I don't have to be perfect to experience God' grace, not to worry about tomorrow, the downfall of judging others, how to deal with the difficult people in our lives.

I became more aware of recognizing change in my life and the work God is doing in and through me.

I enjoy the daily synopsis and the 5th day recaps, they do a great job of bringing it all together.

I would recommend this book to do individually or with a small group, so much to learn and be reminded of in during the 10 weeks.

Most of us compare ourselves to Peter as the impetuous, impulsive disciple who wavered between faithful devotion and dreadful denial. We celebrate Peter's forgiveness and rejoice over his incredible mission given to him by Christ following the resurrection.
