Tell us a little about yourself. I am the mom of 14 homeschooled kids and 30 grandkids. I homeschooled for 37 years and am now helping homeschool some of my grandkids. I am passionate about preserving the rich history we have in this country and love writing engaging stories for kids that they will remember. I developed character curriculum for my own kids through the years and have turned it into curriculum for others to use. We know its effective. We use true stories from history to illustrate character in action in the lives of real people in history and Scripture. I LOVE encouraging young moms in their homeschooling/parenting adventure. Moments with Marilyn is my podcast for young moms.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wrote 10 historical readers for kids This book in particular was so fun to write. The amazing stories of animals who helped save people is fascinating, Kids love animals. Read about the bear who carried ammo to the front lines in Poland or the dog who strung wires through a pipe that would have taken weeks for the soldiers to string or the dog that disabled a machine gun nest. How about the dog who dug through the rubble after the bombing in Britain and rescued over 200 animals or the pigeon that saved a lost battalion of men. These are 10 stories that you won't want to put down.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope kids will be encouraged to see how God used animals to accomplish his purposes and rescue human lives. I want to see history come alive for kids.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This project was fun and inspiring at the same time.
