Exposure by prolific author Brandilyn Collins is a unique novel that has a story within a story, and keeps the reader guessing until the end as the two plots come together in an original, creative way. It starts with columnist Kaycee Raye, who tries to convince the police that someone is stalking her, leaving pictures of a man who has been shot and left on a dark yellow floor. A little girl who is a close friend, Hannah Parksley, goes missing, and Kaycee is crazy with fear for herself and Hannah. The second plot involves a mobster, Nico Nicorelli, who is after a man, Martin Giordano, and his family following a seven-million-dollar bank heist. Martin is killed by Nico, and Martin’s wife Lorraine and four-year-old daughter Tammy must run for their lives to escape the killer. The two stories stay separate and are easy to follow to the very end where a logical combining of both tales is drawn.

This is a breathtaking, page-turning thriller that will be enjoyable to read by both men, women, and even teenagers. The characters are well-defined and developed. Kaycee’s obsessive paranoia is constant throughout the story. Lorraine’s fear of being caught by Nico is real. Although the novel is plot-driven, the reader with identify with the characters easily.

However, there is very little reference to God or Christian beliefs. There are no biblical quotes or any substantial discussion about Christ. This is the only drawback of an otherwise terrific book. It is recommended for a general audience rather than a specifically Christian one. – Anita Tiemeyer, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
