Explore the vastness of the universe with Apologia's Exploring Creation with Astronomy, 2nd Edition textbook. Study the basics of the field of astronomy, the sun, moon, planets, asteroids & meteors, the Kuiper Belt and Dwarf Planets, galaxies, and more through conversational lessons written directly to students. This Charlotte-Mason inspired guide to astronomy will keep kids interested and engaged for each lesson!
This second edition text features bright photographs, sidebars with Biblical wisdom, infographics to help children understand information, callout boxes which give special attention to God as Creator, "what do you remember?" review questions, and integrated activities.
The companion Astronomy Notebooking Journal is the perfect way to expand your study of the textbook. The journal includes the activities children need to complete the assignments in the course and provides a place for them to record experiments and display work. Features include Scripture copywork pages, lapbook-style minibooks, vocabulary crosswords, "Take it Further" extension activities, "What do you Remember?" review questions which can be answered orally or through written narration, final review questions, and more.
The MP3 Audio CD is an audio recording of the text read by author Jeannie Fulbright (though in order to improve the listening experience, some words and sentences have been altered from the textbook). Perfect for students who are auditory learners, slow readers, or who have disabilities that make reading difficult! This is an MP3-CD; you must have an MP3-compatible CD player or computer to listen.

Motherof21 Stars Out Of 5Waste of MoneyOctober 19, 2017Motherof2Quality: 2Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I bought this thinking it would help engage my 4th grader more into the curriculum with all the extra activities, I was extremely excited for my son to do the robot activity, that is included in this kit also but that was an extremely big let down as it wasn't actually a robot at all.
I am not big on science and thought I would enjoy doing these experiments with my son, since astronomy is about the only science I have any interest in, but that is not the case. I had to tell my husband to do the experiments with him.
Ok let's start with the solar system experiment, they give you balloons to blow up to impossible sizes (we finally gave up at 20" diameter instead of 25" diameter required on one of them) and didn't even attempt to do the sun. Instead I went and bought a glow in the dark solar system for my son to hang up in his room. The Sundial experiment didn't work, and my husband said the rainbow maker wouldn't work because the material wouldn't stay together, so none of those could be completed. That is the last experiment we attempted, we are finishing up week 11 of school and haven't even bothered with another experiment since week 8 and my son hasn't even asked about doing them. This is very disappointing considering the amount of money spent on this kit. The ease of not having to go buy the individual ingredients for each experiment was only of the reasons I bought this kit, the other was for the more hands on activities (that aren't near as good as they would appear). I would definitely not recommend buying this kit and just do the experiments in the book or choose the ones you wanna do, then get the ingredients for it. Very disappointing considering apologia's reputation and also that you have to buy this kit for the more hands on activities.
