I bought this for my seven year old. She is a new reader so reading five verses per day is just her speed. However, the blanks are way too small for a seven year old whose motor skills are not fully developed. She tried writing her answers in the blanks and it was a mess and frusterating for her because she couldn't fit her answer in the blank. I am going to try printing off some handwriting paper for her to use to record her answers in instead of writing in the book.
I also have a nine year old and I think this book is not suitable for him either because it only requires the child read five short verses per day and answer one question.
Jeannie5 Stars Out Of 5This is a wonderful way to foster the habit of daily time in the word!June 30, 2018JeannieQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I initially purchased this for my 9-year-old great grandson, and then another copy for my 13-year-old friend. Now I'm ordering two more for a Bible study buddy and myself (we are not exactly kids!). While I love daily devotionals from Oswald Chambers, Spurgeon, and other gifted teachers, there is nothing like the Holy Spirit and the simple pure word of God. I recommend to anyone who wants to encourage a youngster to develop the habit of daily Bible study. I also love that each day includes a question about the passage for written response, and each week has a memory verse.
Karen C5 Stars Out Of 5Just what I Was Looking ForJanuary 5, 2018Karen CQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was looking for a "workbook" type Bible Study to introduce our almost 9-year-old to personal Bible Study time. A friend recommended this one, and I cannot say enough good things about it. It is divided into small readings each day with an application, a prayer request and memory verse for the week and a place for Sunday's sermon notes. It uses the Bible only, not someone else's thoughts on the Bible. Also - very affordable.
From my daughter:
I really like "Exploring the Bible". It is fun to have your own personal Bible study to do in the morning (At least I do it in the morning most days). The prayer request really is helpful when you need prayer time on your own.
