Love Notgrass curriculum!! Best history& love that there's Bible&English credit too! It would be perfect if there was some type of geography work however.

I think Exploring America is a great curriculum for a high school student. The writing is intelligent but approachable, and the additional readings and assignments lend themselves to great flexibility in the program. A student who is highly motivated and has great aptitude can accomplish all of the additional readings and projects, while a student with learning challenges can stick with the textbook and selected assignments. My only criticism is that the tests are too simple. I would prefer tests that focus on the understanding of issues, cause and effect, etc., rather than matching, multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank answers. I had to write my own tests to focus on what I thought was important. Other than that, I was very happy with the curriculum, and I only wish my daughter had the aptitude and interest to accomplish all of the assignments and projects. I love the study of history, and I would love to have delved deeper with her into the subject. I want to keep American Voices to read on my own.

Overall the curriculum is good. I would have liked a schedule that separated the English, History and Bible out in a more defined way for high school crediting. I was doing another English curriculum with this and trying to get the Anerican History without overtaxing my student was laborious.

i also did not feel the 1930-1970s were done very well. it was just information blah blah blah. Factoids. And I felt like the tests were lacking also.

I did like some of the primary resources but there were a lot of long speeches which I dont think were all necessary and just added to the blah blah.

History has alot to tell us, but this was not inspiring. I feel like you could do so much better and you have in other areas.

I would recommend this but understanding that it would take alot of work to make it your own.

This was fantastic. I highly recommend it. Not much prep work, understandable, thought provoking, and offers up to 3 credits! We loved it!

This is a high quality curriculum, without a doubt! Each unit consists of five leasons with a quiz following. This is actually a credit each (per semester) of history, literature, and Bible. Each unit has recommended hands-on projects, a Scripture memory verse, and readings from original documents, etc.
