SusieQ5 Stars Out Of 5Explode the Code SeriesNovember 23, 2018SusieQQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have used Explode the Code series to teach struggling readers for years. It is used in many reading programs and at least one national learning center. It is a complete synthetic phonics program, from cvc short-vowel words ( Book 1) to multi-syllabic words with prefixes and suffixes( Book 8) . For those children who are struggling readers, this is the best there is. With patience at the start, it works with dyslexic students to help them overcome decoding problems.
I use books 1-4 , and book 8 the most, picking lessons from books 5-7 as needed. .
Thank you Christianbook.com for offering these books at a fair price and providing excellent service.
I will continue to order from you as I need materials. -

My kiddo absolutely loves it and I think its just perfect how easy it is to do on your own and it helps with spelling. The best book by far that I have ever purchased for homeschool.

Annette5 Stars Out Of 5love itApril 15, 2021AnnetteQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I used the Explode the Code series for my son (now 17) when he was learning to read. This was a very systematic approach. Each lesson covers one particular sound for about 9 pages. On the last page of the lesson, the student writes the word from memory by looking at the picture. I used that for his spelling tests. I recently purchased this one to use with a student I am tutoring. He likes it really well and is doing great. It is very affordable. And since it does not specify a grade level on the cover, the student does not feel he is behind or ahead a grade. You can do as many as you want in a school year.
