This teacher's guide is designed to be used with Explode the Code Book 5, 2ndEdition and Explode the Code Book 6, 2ndEdition (both sold-separately), and provides instructorswith additional options for instruction and skillreinforcement.

Lessons include a short review or linkto prior knowledge, separate sections with specificinstruction for phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary,fluency, comprehension, writing, and review (some activitiesreference using the Wall Chart and Activity Book or Cardset), as well as instructions for completing the pages inthe student workbook. Additional notes for differentiatinginstruction by learning style (visual, auditory,kinesthetic) are also included, along with challengeexercises and extra practice found in the half-books (Books5 1/2 and 6 1/2).
