Twinkle3 Stars Out Of 5Not what I expectedJanuary 6, 2024TwinkleQuality: 3Value: 5Meets Expectations: 2This review was written for Near Death Experiences: 101 Miraculous Stories of Heaven, Angel Encounters, and Divine Intervention.I am reading Near Death Experiences by Randy Kay & Shaun Tabatt which said it was 101 short stories... well, in truth, it's a handful of near death experience accounts that they broke up into short snippets to pigeon hole into different categories about having an NDE, such as the part that demonstrates the out-of-body experience after the person finds themself dead or their heightened senses during their NDE, and so forth. The trouble is, I can't keep track of who is who here... I start to read about person X and then they shift to a snippet of Person Y's account, and then later, they go back to more of Person X's account and I can't recall if that person was a Christian or an atheist, which pilot (there are several cases) story this one is, how the person died and was having the NDE --- the lack of continuity for me is very frustrating. I think what I am going to do is to go through the book to identify all the places where Jim Woodford's account is mentioned, and then all the places where Ivan Tuttle is mentioned, and so forth for each of the persons whose accounts they discuss, and then read only one person's account at a time so I can keep all the stories straight. This is more work than I really wanted to do to enjoy a book about NDEs. I think readers have to be made more aware that this is a book that picks apart a handful of NDEs and breaks them up into smaller stories to fit into certain categories so that the authors can make a point about how the many different NDEs reported have more or less the same general characteristics, with some variation on the theme. Don't expect 101 NDE accounts.
