Tell us a little about yourself. I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 16 years old. Following my college experience, I received my first degree in Electrical Engineering. After a few years I felt an overwhelming desire to seriously study the Bible. I attended a Bible college for a few years and then transferred to a graduate seminary where I received an Masters of Divinity degree after 5 years of study. Later I left the field of Engineering and entered the ministry full time, and became a pastor a local church for about 15 years.
What was your motivation behind this project? Far too often I have heard Christian leaders discredit science because they believed that their interpretation of the English Bible presented the fact that all creation was completed a mere 6000 years ago. I have witnessed too many young people who grew up in Christian homes leave the faith when they went on to further education following their high school graduation. Today this argument about the date or time of God's creation is now dividing the churches and causing too many to reject Biblical Christianity.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? In this book I clearly explain that there is NO CONFLICT between what the Bible says in Genesis and the age of the universe, regardless of what some are saying. Because of my seminary education, I am able to translate many portions of the Bible from the original languages. In this book I show that some of the common ideas held concerning the date of creation are based on incorrect interpretations. My goal in this book is to help the readers to correctly understand the correct interpretation.
