Among important books in the defense of Christianity, this one has few equals. Evidence That Demands a Verdict is an easy-to-read, front-line defense for Christians facing the tough questions of critics and skeptics. Using secular evidences and other historical sources, Josh McDowell's faith-building book is a "must read" for every Christian.
As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling and overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. After trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, Joshs life changed dramatically as he experienced the power of Gods love. After his conversion, Josh committed his life to telling a doubting world about the truth of Jesus Christ. After studying at Kellogg College, Josh completed his college degree at Wheaton College and then attended Talbot Theological Seminary, graduating magna cum laude with a Masters of Divinity. Working with Campus Crusade for Christ and founding the youth outreach, Josh McDowell Ministry, Josh has shared the gospel with more than 25 million people in 125 countries. He is the author or co-authored of 147 books.
Faith and Knowledge Ministries5 Stars Out Of 5HonestSeptember 18, 2017Faith and Knowledge MinistriesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4One of my favorite aspects of Evidence That Demands a Verdict is its honest treatment of the evidence available. Josh and Sean have done a great job at avoiding the trap of many apologists to overstate the case for the Christian faith. This is especially true in the chapters regarding the archaeological evidence for the OT. Rather than hurting the case for Christianity, academic honesty such as Josh and Sean have shown, helps to show us as scholars seeking the truth, following the evidence wherever it goes. This gives Christianity more credibility as a belief that corresponds with reality and not just a belief to be accepted upon blind faith.
