- How was Jesus Christ profoundly different from any other man who ever lived, and why?
- Is Christianity based on a blind faith or a faith rooted in historical reality?
- Is the Bible a reliable historical record of the events it describes?
- Was the resurrection of Jesus a hoax or is there evidence that it was an actual historical event?
- Were the major events of Jesus's life and death accurately foretold centuries earlier?
NOTE: Evidence for Christianity contains the best of The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict, condensed down to a less intimidating but still comprehensive coverage of all the best evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. Philosophical reasons and responses to major non-Christian thought systems are not addressed; they can be found in The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict.

Whether debating Marxists, college professors, or Islamic apologists, Josh McDowell's hallmark has always been to walk boldly into enemy territory and speak truth. This book is based on the expectation that, with a growing number of adults becoming increasingly skeptical toward Christianity, there is a need for a solid body of persuasive evidence to be presented to them. This is a sourcebook for doubting seekers as well as current believers who need persuasive information to share with friends. Evidence for Christianity is McDowell's compelling answer to the hard questions so many Christians are afraid to discuss.
cbertrand573 Stars Out Of 5Evidence for ChristianityJune 13, 2017cbertrand57Quality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2I was a little disappointed when reading this book. I thought it would explain the facts that prove that Christianity is true and that Christ was indeed God's son using historical facts etc. But this book assumed that everything written in the bible was true and used that as evidence for Christianity. I was looking more for historical evidence of Christ etc. and not just using bible passages as proof. The description in that case was misleading.
Jim STucson, AZAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5This is not just another "evidence" bookSeptember 19, 2012Jim STucson, AZAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As my summary states, this isn't just another book by McDowell on evidences for our faith. In this book he shares his "trade secrets", that is, his notes for many of his debates and lectures over the years, as well as updating information based on modern sources. As such, I don't think this is a bedtime novel, but is more like "Evidence...a Verdict". However, Josh kept this book readable, should you choose to read through sections, similar to his latest revision to "The New Evidence...", which I highly recommend.
Another thing I like about this book is I can give it away rather inexpensively for what you get from the content. I just bought another 8 copies that I use for giving away to new Christians or to agnostics and atheists. It has allowed me to open the door to conversations about the true Christ, which is exactly the way Josh likes to have his materials used.
Again, you can't go wrong using Josh's work.

I think it should dispel all the lies that have been deposited in his mind.

Linda Gill5 Stars Out Of 5February 16, 2009Linda GillThis is a phenomenal book and one with which all Christians should be familiar. If you have ever wanted to be able to talk with someone about what you believe and why in a way that addresses the skepticism of unbelievers in our day, this is an excellent resource. If you have ever wanted to know more about how our Bible has been preserved and authenticated over the centuries, this book explains it. We are studying it in Sunday School right now. Most of us have been Christians for years. This book is deepening not only our knowledge, but our faith in God's sovereignty.
