Its the bestselling book ever. Its been translated into more than 2,000 languages. Its changed peoples lives around the world. No, its not Thin Thighs in 30 Days . . . its the Bible! Yet the Bible remains about as well-understood to many people as your typical software license agreementand about as exciting. Thats too bad, because the Bible is exciting, and it doesnt have to be a mystery. Whether youre new to the Bible and think the book of Job is a guide to finding the perfect career, or your rusty Bible knowledge needs a spit-and-polish, or you just want a fresh look at the book youve read so many times, this is the book for you. No dry theological treatise, its written in an engaging, humorous style you will enjoy. In short, readable chapters, the authors first answer some basic questions: Who wrote the Bible? Is it accurate? How do you find your way around it? And how did Noah fit all those animals into the ark anyway? (Well, maybe not that, but theres still plenty of trivia in there.) Then they take you on a guided tour from Genesis to Revelation, summarizing important people, events, and themes. Youll get a good foundation for understanding and an excitement for reading this most important of books, the Bible. "The title says it all! Its an inspiring trailer for the Best Book in the World. Read it front to back or just dip ineither way it does the biz." Rob Lacey, author of the word on the street, actor and broadcaster

Judy Andrews5 Stars Out Of 5April 22, 2008Judy AndrewsI have just used this book to begin a small group for new believers. We have thoroughly enjoyed each chapter with the authors, Pete and Ben, and their terrific sense of humor. I had looked at several other "guidebooks" but they were all dry as dust. Thank you, Zondervan, for publishing such a great introduction to the Word of God! We plan to use the next book "Everything You Want to Know About Jesus" when we start again in the fall.
Patricia Kirkpatrick5 Stars Out Of 5January 19, 2008Patricia KirkpatrickI thought it was very well written and very readable for anyone, especially those who have never studied the Bible. I am hoping the overview will be an incentive to those I gift my copies to and encourage them to take God's word seriously.
