Pastor G5 Stars Out Of 5Blame BobJanuary 1, 2019Pastor GQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5I was already thinking about serving as a mentor with the Denver Rescue Mission. In the midst of reading Everybody Always, I signed up. That is the purpose and point of the book. "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" (James 1:22).
Betsy5 Stars Out Of 5EVERYBODY ALWAYSDecember 29, 2018BetsyThis book by Bob Goff is a "Can't put down book." One I'll read and reread often. Inspiring. Easy to read. Uplifting.... It can be difficult to love everyone, but his book is full of lessons and insights on following the command Jesus gave: Love as I have loved you.
Diane5 Stars Out Of 5Inspirational and ChallengingSeptember 24, 2018DianeBob is so inspirational. He lives what he writes. He is a great example of a Christ follower who has embraced the love of Christ and shares it with others. He tells big stories of how God has done amazing things, starting with small acts of love. He doesn't brag, he just shares examples from his life where he has given love instead of anger, impatience, harshness, intolerance, and the like.
His "day job" as a lawyer gives him position and platform to be in situations that many of us cannot, but we can still follow his example as we follow Jesus' leading in our own lives. We cannot underestimate our little acts of love to people we come in contact with. Bob is also a highly sought after speaker. Between these two jobs he finds himself on airplanes many days of the week. He once befriended and discipled a TSA agent 3-minutes at a time as he encountered him regularly at the airport. Bob and "Sweet Maria" (as he calls his wife) gave away their house to a widow. She became their closest family friend and then they helped her though cancer until she died. With God's amazing power and intervention over the course of many years, Bob was able to help stop the evil practices of witch doctors in Uganda.
His strategy in life is to love people, as Jesus instructed. He says, "If we want more faith we've got to do more stuff". He is not preachy or academic. He is very conversational and down-to-earth. He says, If you know what it is you want, that will direct what you are doing today. Figure out who you are becoming, and let that inform who you are now.
I highly recommend this book and/or audiobook for all teens and adults. You will be greatly inspired and challenged in your walk with the Lord.

The kind of book that cuts you deep but you can't stop reading it. It challenges you in your walk and in your heart. Bob Goff has written such a book in Everybody, Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People published by Thomas Nelson. There is no wonder why this book has hit bestselling list as did his previous book Love Does to which this is a follow-up.
Bob Goff is a lawyer, speaker, world changer, and story teller. He uses the art of story to bring across tremendous truths in this book. In his book he says that we should follow the practice of Jesus who just loved everybody always. Yes, we are to love the difficult ones too. He says in his book, "I don't want to get to heaven and have Jesus tell me my big opinions blocked someone's view of Him."
Goff sucks you in with story after story. Almost every chapter is a story and some stories are extended over several chapters. Each story has been taken from his life and each one has a tremendous lesson attached to it. He encourages you to view people through the lenses of Jesus. In the end his desire is for the world to see less of us and more of Jesus in our lives. "I want people to meet you and me and feel like they've just met everyone in heaven," says Goff.
Probably one of the greatest parts of this book is his challenge for you to love difficult people and he gives practical advice on doing that. We are talking good, solid, advice.
I could fill this review with quote after quote from this author. Probably the most powerful story is his last. I found myself in tears reading it.
There is a reason why this book is a best seller. His next book will be as well. If you have never read Bob Goff, you need to. His book needs to be your next purchase. You will thank me.
Follow this guy on twitter at @bobgoff. You will love his daily wisdom.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review. This was a pleasure.
MLT91955 Stars Out Of 5Positive telling of how we should love othersJuly 23, 2018MLT9195Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A positive book which promotes the idea of loving 'everybody always', just like Jesus did. A favorite line from the book: "If I really want to meet Jesus, then I have to get a lot closer to the people He created-all of them, not just some of them." Although this author repeats too often throughout the book that he is a lawyer, he does get the point across in an easy to understand way how we should treat others. Very helpful, insightful, and descriptive. I recommend this book because of the powerful message it promotes.
